They also have a lot of cap space because they couldn’t find those marquee players. Just better recruitment and coaching. Picking players with the right character to create culture is much overlooked and often what separates the terrible front offices who just look for talent and the good ones who win premierships.

Then why do Storm have a history of signing players from the Tigers?
Why do Roosters sign players from the Tigers?

Sure the experience of the Bromwich's and Kaufusi is great for the Dolphins - this year - but did they want to come to Manly? Would we have offered as much?

In each case you try to sign a player that will add something to your squad, if they want to live in Sydney that is pretty important too, let alone if they actually want to come to your club and we can afford them.

Tigers still produce a lot of talent so they will always be looked at for recruitment.

PS Taupau started at Dogs and Tuilagi at Storm. We got Woods from Saints, Suli from Dogs. Oh yeah, also we have recruited from Storm and Roosters - and those players get criticised here just as much as the ex-Wests guys when we lose.

They dont have much cap space because every club has to spend 95% of its cap every year. That is why players like Luke Brooks earn the same as DCE.

On form this season yes no doubt, but his form at the lowly Dogs for a series of wooden spoons didnt have people begging for his signature on these boards. Wayne spotted him and got his man.

I agree 100% Croker isnt the man but as I said in another post we dodged a bullett with the likes of Verrills The Cheese, Api, Hodgson and even the wonder boy at the Dogs is very ordinary most of the time and the eels werent too stressed about him going. South fans dislike (at times) Cooke for being hot & cold.

The solution might be at the Raiders imo. Starling or Woolford remembering Dani Levi had the jump on them to start the season.
