What are everyone’s thoughts on how we are going to replace him next season ? He is tough, a forward leader and doesn’t take a backwards step

Is a real concern for me now, Waddell and Gos a few months back I would have said were the men but they haven’t impressed this season at all, Olakau’atu could be an option but I look at him as more of a middle than an edge forward

I’m not sure what is on the market but that is a fairly big hole we need to fix that I’m not sure we can sort from within

I think olakauatu is wasted in the middle.. he will do more damage on an edge. Very hard to stop close to the line

Olakau'Atu an out an out edge imo

He'd be the one but we do need to sign an extra body in the backrow...maybe Isiah Papali'i or Keegan Hipgrave

Guaca for sure and certain, we have plenty of middle third players in the 30.

Thompson is tough for sure, was good for us last season. What he has done off the field is inspirational!!

For me Thompson’s form has been down this season, inconsistent and not the player he was last season, playing Guaca there on the left edge for the rest of this season we would be able to find out, Guaca has had one game starting on the right edge and played very well. I don’t think he is as effective in the middle third.

Interesting, I haven’t looked close enough at him probably but haven’t really seen the footwork on him to be a dangerous edge man like a Kikau etc, had him pegged more along the lines of a Taumalolo, who I actually do think is wasted a bit in the middle at the moment

Pretty sure taumololo is haumoles cousin

Luke Garner from the Tigers. Manly junior. Hasn’t been as impressive this year than he was last year.Des can sort that out.
I don’t know when his contract runs out, but that doesn’t mean squat in this era.

Quac. Didn't do too much on weekend, but was very impressive week before against Warriors. Played for 80 mins and made some great tackle breaks as well as wacked a few in defence. Can hit

Hopefully Haumole takes the left edge spot. Can offload, fend and footwork.

All things Thommo doesn’t possess.

Can he tackle and tackle and tackle like Thommo?
Or does Jake have to do even more.

This is the trouble at the Broncos. Too many huge Islanders that don't do enough in D.

Are you saying there is a correlation between having a Polynesian background And laziness in defence in Rugby League?

If so, what is the optimal amount of Polynesian players to have in the team to avoid not doing enough in D?
