Honestly it gives us hope. I think all fans know where we are in terms of winning a comp and the debut of a young kid is a reason for hope....maybe he will spark an late season rally...(knowing this will prob be his one and only first grade game with us)

Oh I get enthusiam in youth, but Humphrey's, whilst he looks decent, doesn't...in my view...warrent the hype he is getting.

But I've been wrong before and will be wrong again.

For sure but I am still sure he will be the greatest playmaker since cliffy, better goal kicker than ridge and tougher than Tooves…and will be very angry if he does not meet my expectations

2 things we will find out
If he can tackle, as they will direct plenty of traffic at Humphreys, especially the big forwards.
How he can run the ship, as Brooks is more a runner and though the experienced player, Humphreys is an organiser and hope he does a great job as we will need a decent conductor that we lacked vs South's
Finally, I reckon he will play a good game and will raise a few questions on here come Sunday night

One thing is for certain, however he plays, come Sunday night, people extrapolate his whole career off this one game 😂😂

One thing for certain is the Guru Wayne Bennet meticulously hand picks his players and he is rarely proven wrong

And the reality is that they all justify his crafty choices on the field for him

To be singed by the master Bennet is the best endorsement a player can have

Will be glad we let him go or the worst recruitment decision history 😅
Yet I've seen many play a great first game and dissolve back to reserve grade and some of our greatest ever players were ordinary first game....I think Snake Stewart an all time favourite had a poor 1st game getting stampeded by Eels players and knocked out, but ended up rivalling Slater as the best fullback of that time

Has shown in the lower grades that he can be a sufficient game manager , quite a step up and challenge tomorrow but knows or is quite familiar with the general Manly systems and should be up for it all round
Think that the move to also transition him into a 9 role did have more to do with trying to develop a or another alternative to Froggy, with limited opportunity with D C E ahead of him but also with Gordy and Lawton not completely providing the best alternative at 9 previously
Different matter with the acquisition of Simpkin and soon to be leaving but can only help his future prospects and a sense of achievement to go well in in a game like tomorrow .

Ya probs right Al....all I want is some control of the game unlike the Souths game of headless chooks with zero direction and allow Brooks to simply run.....and if we can match he middle and Tom gets involved which I reckon he will, could be an enjoyable game.
I wish Humphreys well and hope he has a good career, but right now just want him to step up and do a job for Manly and maybe with his future decided, some pressure will be off and he can play his own game, to simply organise the team around the park and work well with the 9, 6 and 1.

Bennett is good, but like every coach stuffs up too
He told Ballin he was not good enough and more and thanks to Mr Bennett, Matty Ballin was much of the glue in a Dominant Manly period

Bennet is good is an understatement feathered friend
The reason he let go of Ballin was because he had Representative Hookers in Michale Ennis , Andrew Macullough and young Pj Marsh at his disposal
Bennet is human and has his flaws as all humans do but he also has proven super human coaching powers that not all humans have

If the kid wants to leave, how is that any different to any other employee? We didn’t sack him did we? If he thinks that he has a better opportunity at souths under Bennett than that’s a matter for him. If he can get more money at souths then that’s a matter for him as well. If he things he has more chance at playing FG at souths then good luck to him. If the club feels that Arthur is a better option and he will be down the pecking order then so be it! If the club doesn’t think of him as the next messiah then no point holding the kid back.

I'm only going off the 6 or 7 times I've seen him, so no expert.

But in my view he is a good player but not sure he kicks on to a meaningful career.

I watched a lot of sunshine coast games and dce didnt shine until he got to first grade. Had a unit up there for a bit

Your correct you can only go off what we see but until given a go its tough.

We have had him long enough, nurtured him enough for it to be a confusing decision on footy alone

But our top 30 spots are limited for next season and maybe thats behind it.
Frogs injury or ability to be a utility could also factor
