Jamal Fogarty

3rd year is smart. Brooks won't be resigned when his contract is up in 27. So Walsh will play with Fogarty in halves in 28. Depending on how he's going ofcourse.
I believe Onitoni is more likely to debut sooner. He is more physically developed, and his game is very much an instinctive style like Brooks.

On the other hand, Walsh has signed to be that game manager. He is definitely going to have far more time in NSW Cup. I imagine he will have a similar progression path to both Sanders at the Raiders, and Woods at the Bulldogs. Playing Fogarty and Walsh, both in their natural styles, will likely end up like Cleary/Maloney where one cannot be the B man.

We all hope young Walsh goes good. But let’s be honest, what makes him a better prospect that Latu Fainu or the many young great young halves who don’t make it in 1st grade.
Katoa has been solid but he’s still got a lot to learn to ice a game.
In modern times , older halves have been the best in the comp (Cronk / JT / Reynolds / Chez)
Let’s hope Fogarty goes to a new level

Funny how many are saying these two young guns are going to be ready in 2-3 years.

Lewis Dodd played 79 Super League games, and signed for $700k a year in the NRL still cant get a game.

The chances of either of these youngsters ever making the 30 man NRL squad is beyond remote.

I hope they have long careers in the maroon and white but I wouldnt bet on it.

Everyone's been mesmerised by Galvin. They are all "Galvanised" believing any old 19 year old with talent is good to go.

Congratulations to the Recruitment boys. This is a very smart and astute buy given our circumstances and at really good value price. No disrespect to DCE but this guy is different in many respects. I think he will promote a different style of play and more of a team approach. Love to see him play behind those same forwards that smashed Penrith on Saturday. I think he would have a field day!!! .
Yeah, but would he make sexy kicks on the 4th, 3rd, or even… 2nd tackle? 🤗

Yep. Galvin almost lost the Tigers the game against the Sharks with some awful 5th tackle options too. He’s anything but the finished product and the Tigers got the spoon last year with him as the dominant half.

Backing rookies in such a demanding position is fraught with danger.

Not just longevity more being a one position player.

Who remembers Des playing fullback for Manly? Or playing numerous times on the Wing for Australia.

For the record Des started at lock in 51 matches

Toovey started at 6 in 47 matches.
Des played wing for NSW on his debut too I think?

I just looked it up feathered friend.
Des played 13 origin games and seven were from the bench
3 games at half back 2 games at 5/8 and one game at lock
Des had great utility value and also filled in at Hooker for Manly
Des had the explosive speed to cover the wing position
To Sum Des up ....
Des The Fitness Freak was a Robust Resilient Competitor

Well good , that’s now settled.

Time to move on , for everybody
This should have been settled long ago by Mestrov as he was Accountable
But He did not have the Foresight like competent Ceo,s do
The DCE Contracts Negotiations by Mestrov Dragged on and on and on

I see @andrew disagrees and that is your prerogative feathered friend
Lets Look at the Fogarty Contract Resolution at the Raiders
Both Players wanted more money
Looks nothing like the one that was handled at Manly by Mestrov .

We’ve confirmed the halfback of 15 years is leaving & signed a replacement all before round 10 of the season, id hardly say anything dragged out.

You can play this down as you like but your point of view does not stand up feathered friend

The Contract Negotiations Dragged on like the Flying Circus all the way to Fox sports were Mestrov Dragged on and Bragged on a Live on air Knee jerk Offer extension
This was one of the most Unprofessional acts by a CEO in the History of the game

Helpful all round considering recent circumstances , that it is now settled ,even allowing for a bit of caution on the 3 year component
Hardly think however that the signing and the final contract amount is going to assist that much in picking up good level or a couple of good level forwards .
Actually more concerned now that matter is done with getting some definite finalization re signing Bully and that invariably is going to require a bit of an upgrade and with extending Koula also .
He is still signed until next season and an option in his favor for 27 so on that basis , could well be a free agent after Nov the 1 st this year although not that sure in a technical sense .

Good bye Daly, welcome Jamal.
