Jamal Fogarty

If I was Fogerty, I would ask why they didn’t activate the clause if they want him so badly?
Decision will come down to family, if I had the option to secure my future without having to relocate my children’s school and wife’s work I’ll definitely take it up, especially when you consider we decided to (allegedly) low ball him. I think he will be good for us but end of the day family first. It’s why I think we will be better investing in players who call the northern beaches home.

I thought it was Canberra that low balled not us, but I could be wrong, I have known to be wrong occasionally lol

From my understanding Canberra didn’t activate his $650k one year option by end of round 6, media then starting reporting we were set to offer him a 2 x year $1 million deal ($500k per season). If Canberra come back and say they will offer him 2 x years at $500/$550k. All alleged through, however I do believe the information because it seems that the only time information isn’t leaking out of our camp regarding player movement is when Issac Moses is involved. Apart from that we seem to be running a leaky ship. I could also definitely be wrong though, just going off what I had read at the time. To my understanding we haven’t tabled any official offers yet.

Yes you could be spot on because he has said his kids are in school down there and he doesnt really want to disrupt them

I wonder if that’s a ploy to get an extra 50k a year out of Manly? The ol’ if it’s like for like, we’ll stay put. A lifestyle on the Northern Beaches is much more appealing than Canberra. However, it’s also much more expensive.

Katoa or Galvin would be the only 2 worth getting. No point getting in a bidding war for fogarty. If we can't get any above, I wouldn't look elsewhere. Spend the money on forwards, with either turbo or large at six, brooks at seven til things change
I would bring in the youth, I don’t think turbo can play in the spine. It’s too distributive building a game plan around someone who struggles to string more than 3 games together. Still the best player on our team but his body has become a liability. The only place I can honestly see him playing is at #14. Invest in our youth and have arguably the greatest outside back of all time on his day coming in to test teams apart for 15/20 mins per half.

If The Forgarty move is going to become a bidding war, let the Raiders have him. Save the money for an elite forward or two by bringing up Arthur for the couple of years, entice his dad BA over as assistant coach and if Seibold fails, elevate BA as the coach. He at least understands defence and has had some success with bringing on youth when it's time for Walsh and Large.
Just my opinion.
