Jamal Fogarty

Fogarty, at the right price , for two years would be okay.

Not going to win us a Premiership

But allows the kids below time to develop.

But I agree with others , Ricky can pump up his tyres all he wants , he’s only value to us , at the right price, not if we have to pay overs to get him.

Raiders are now tabling a 2-year, $1 million extension. Undoubtedly we'd have to offer more to beat them now.

If we see Brooks and Turbo in the halves next year, that'll be incredibly embarrassing. I believe the club said that Adam Reynolds was next on the list? Possibly Foran too, somehow.
I’m a Fogarty fan boy, but if the Raiders now want to play games…Fk ‘em. Don’t get caught up in a bidding war. No more than a 1.2mil x2 year deal. They (Raiders) had the choice after the past round to say yay or nay. They said nay. Don’t get sucked in Manly.

As much as I'd love to have Fogarty in the side to give the youngins the time to develop, if Large is ready why not give him the spot. Benji trusted Galvin by putting him straight into first grade and the kid turned out to be a gun. May not happen with Large, but the kids today compared to yesteryear are way more confident in their ability and not afraid to have a go. Save the money for some top shelf forwards if we can. Just my opinion.

Exactly. Not sure how they can start driving his worth up when they had it in their gift to sign him for next year for a reported 400-450. If this is the case then just walk away.

I agree, do not get in a bidding war, maybe there is other options, as with everything theres always lots of smoke and mirrors , it’s human nature and a fundamental aspect of politics and business.

I’m not sold on Galvin to the Eels, if the rumour around negotiations with Sexton are true, why not consider him, if Fogarty is as reported a stop gap to our youngsters, Sexton on a 2 year deal would be a solid option, maybe even pick up a few extra dollars in the deal, I’ve been watching the dogs, his going pretty well, has a good boot and at 24 is coming into his prime, we’d get 2 good years out of him, wouldn’t hurt to bring some of the dogs current culture over either. Think we’d be crazy not to look at it, especially with the current circumstances around Fogarty.

Cant see him coming now, now that they have matched Manly,s offer and his preference is to stay there and his kids are in school down there and he doesn't want to disrupt them but they have added clauses in their deal. If I was him. I would take our offer and say to them ,why didnt you come up with this offer in the first place instead a last minute offer

Fogarty is just a stepping stone for 2 years. From what I hear onitoni is ready to handle bigger bodies. Benji did it with galvin, and he more than handled it. Let's put some faith in the kid.
Galvin is a pencil and handling grade fine. Gee watched those training vids of him yesterday and he looks like a string bean teen going through puberty!

If you were Fogarty, would you want to come to Manly? Might be a bit more money, but cost of living cheaper in Canberra than Sydney, especially Northern beaches. Canberra have more upside than us as well, they are already well underway with their rebuild.

Yep Sexton was another option I was thinking if Fog stays at Canb.

Keen to hear from those that actually watch the lower grades how the two young halves are actually progressing. Might need to tune into @Smokin Joe juniors thread a bit more often.

Could do worse if a suitable half can not be picked up and give Lehi a crack at 6 .
That is on the proviso that Turbo can have a reasonable run on the injury front into next season and beyond
Few examples like Matty Moylan and numerous more full back based players proving successful there .
Brooks to 7 then but in the modern game , only a marginal difference in many ways between a 7 and 6 roles .
Large does look a real prospect as a very capable 6 and of course plenty of wraps on Walsh as a 7 but gee i wish that he was getting a lot more game time then has appeared the case so far this season .

You're asking if any of us would rather live on the Northern Beaches than Canberra?

Thinking ... thinking ...

But that’s the thing I guess, despite what they are sprouting now, I don’t think he’s part of any rebuild or future there - beyond this year.
