Jamal Fogarty

This kind of reminds of the Urbos, Dogs played us, (player managers played us) Shoe, the tigers BS. Sticky and his mob of Clappers probably just looking to drive his price up, maybe there’s no bad blood…….Hey Jammer if you’re leaving us bud, l’ve got an idea, I’ll help you top up the deal, here’s how we’ll play it………………those dummies over the northern side, they’ll never figure it out………..sweet coach, I’m in.

none of that would surprise.

Anyone else thinking this line about investing in our youth (Walsh, Large) is straight out of the Ricky Stuart playbook to dampen expectations and keep the coach in the role as long as possible?

I can see your point but if Large brothers were free agents right now there would probably be 12-17 teams chasing them without exaggerating at all. Walsh I’m not so sure on but he did look great the 1st game he played, just needs to string a few together in a row. I think the club is more so attempting the panthers method of getting a lot of young talent into 1st grade around the same time

Maybe. The difference being they had/have Ivan Cleary, we clearly don’t, and they didn’t forget that forwards are kind of important too.

Still think he's easily worth at least 600-700k and we should try to beat the Raiders offer if it's not too far over that mark, not sure why some think we have already have options in the club to replace DCE. Arthur (at least in the halves) and Wakeham are nothing more than reserve graders, Walsh and Large are minimum 2 years away from being ready and Turbo at 6 is a disaster waiting to happen. We can't really afford to muck around here.

Fogarty is just a stepping stone for 2 years. From what I hear onitoni is ready to handle bigger bodies. Benji did it with galvin, and he more than handled it. Let's put some faith in the kid.

I am honestly starting to think that one of the parties in this saga is simply using the public setting to game the outcome. More generally in the game, this whole public theatre of mid-season announcements, negotiations official or semi-official, speculations and rumours, it just has to be stopped. The NRL has to fix this.
The NRL won’t fix it because they can’t think of a better alternative, the RLPA will kick up a stink and all this stuff generates interest to the NRL.It may make the NRL look amateur at times, but it keeps the game in the headlines, for good or bad

What a slimey little prick sticky is. 1st he says Jamal take the best deal you can find , then he lays the guilt trip on him with we want you to stay, he's happy here but we only offering 1 year. Then he tries to lay blame on Manly for poaching
I couldn't stand that little fu*ker as a player and even more so as a coach. An Olympic class fu*kwit.
How he's remained the faders coach through all the failed campaign's is a miracle. Maybe he's got some stand over thugs in Canberra that know how to persuade people.

Who else would want to live in Canberra? He does seem to have the management down there hoodwinked - he could see the team starting to slip and started trotting out the “we need to rebuild with our youth and I am the only guy who can do it” line. Gives him another 3 years easy.

From what I've heard and seen I'm much higher on Large than I am Walsh, so would love to see him have a crack sooner rather than later but I doubt Seibold would take a risk like that. The only teenagers he has debuted have been Lehi and Sam Fainu who are both freaks but even then we couldn't even hang on to the latter.

Judging by some of Seibold's comments over the last couple of months I genuinely think he believes a Turbo/Brooks halves pairing would work which is concerning. Fogarty may be a stop gap option but he'd at least provide a steady and organising presence which could bring the best out of the players we have now, while also being a good mentor for the two coming through. Clock is ticking on the Trbojevic's careers and whilst they might be a big part of the problem too, throwing the kids in early and essentially starting a rebuild is almost conceding the already unlikely premiership will never happen for them.

He's also a "blame the ref" kind of coach when his team gets pummeled, no matter how big the score against them is.

I like fogarty as a footballer, but only at a certain price. He has a lot of good attributes, but hardly the difference between winning a premiership or not. Just like your comment, is the same with onitoni in a sense. But bringing him in now, gets the wheels rolling in his development and the rebuild or the clubs vision will well and truly start. Getting us closer to our end goal

I wouldn't sign fogarty for anymore than put previous offer. Raiders are probably trying to drive his price up. If not let them have him. Onitoni should be brought straight in instead
Agree 100% with you knuckles. I reckon they're bluffing. Sticky is his mate and knows Manly are desperate to get him so why not bluff and get him more money. Manly should stick with their original offer and bring Large in like you said. Seibs was ready to bring him into the trials this year until the NRL knocked it back.
