Jamal Fogarty

Fittler, Galvin, Cleary, Cam Smith etc, were all kids when they started. 17-18yrs if you're good enough you're old enough. Just throw them in the deep end at least 15-20mins at the end of a game when opponents are tired starting ASAP by next year they're ready to go first round. Get them on the bench replacing DADS ARMY then get rid of them and use the $$$cash to sign and keep our future youngsters before they're gone....
Apart from Galvin you have 3 of the greats of the game.....which shows you how easy it is to be "good enough and old enough"

I can't recall the last time Manly was publicly seeking a player and got him, mostly the signing announcements have come without being preceded by media speculation.

It might be one of those deals where everyone has agreed but they can't say anything formally because technically they aren't even allowed to be talking to him yet!!
Perhaps it's Mestrov's way. Front foot baby!

Must admit I've wondered how Walsh and Large have taken the DCE news. Maybe they were lured here on the promise of DCE being here to mentor them for a few years (!)
Probably the complete opposite. They've come knowing they won't be parked behind him like every other young half was that we've attempted to develop in the last decade. If they are good enough they'll earn a crack at NRL without him being a roadblock

It's entirely possible the reason we didn't want to offer more was because we wanted to spend it elsewhere. Doesn't mean it isn't available.
Agree…and nothing would make me happier than if you were right!

There’s also the possibility that whilst Seibs concedes that Daly is a fine attacking player with creativity, he would like to temper that with a halfback that will play with more control and follow a game plan more rigidly?!

I actually think Fogarty would be a better mentor. He's more of a structured player rather than off the cuff. He also had to wait until really late in his career to make his debut so had to show a level of patience and determination. In terms of team first I don't think we're losing out

I think Mestrov is publicly calling DCE'S bluff to see if he will backflip on his decision not to play for Manly next year

I like Fogarty as a replacement for dce. Let's face it, the only time we've won a premiership with evans was when we had a team full of superstars and because the club panicked and paid him the 10yr 1ml deal we lost players who were forced out. And since then nothing

Now he's sabotaged this year.

I hope the clubs being mentioned for his services don't pay him the 1mil plus he's asking for.
I wonder if the money set aside by the Roosters gets pulled because Joey Manu wants to come back to the NRL

Sorry mate... He's gone. No way he's staying now. He may come back to be a halves coach, but not in a Manly jersey post 2025.

That said, I'd love to be proven wrong.

Seriously are you that thick? Short term solution until Walsh and large are ready. It’s not rocket science mate

Whats with the abuse?

I thought this was a place where we expressed our opinions.

Anyway I want stoop to your level.

My plan is chase the Clearys? They could be here for 2027.

I think its a bit better than chasing a broken down NSW/Qld Cup player. Just to educate you a little he has played 121 games in those comps and just 100 in 7 season of NRL.

Don't get me wrong he is not the worst half in the NRL Ilias, Flanagan and Townsend seem to be standouts at the moment.

meh, not saying Arthurs is great just the difference between him and Fogarty is not that big, if it's a 1-2 year fill in better to keep Jake and spend the cap on the forwards and if Large and Joey are ready move them in. Fogarty is average, Arthurs is average, no need to spend more for average imo.

At least with Fogarty Jake wont be the slowest player in the team.

Brother I couldn’t care less about Fogarty. I’m just excited over the potential of Walsh and Large. Signing a young exciting half would only block their path. Just need to be patient. I think if cleary goes anywhere it will be to the UK unfortunately
