Jake Trbojevic offers nothing in attack

a good cover defender especially out wide...operate wide near the centres and cover both sides.
Here we go again  We've been over this many time, Bearfax.

You're describing a lock's role circa 1985! OK, Glenn Stewart played a little wider but he pretty much retired as the role transitioned to another middle forward.

You just have to accept that locks play in the middle now and have for going on 10 years now. When was the last time Isiah Yeo roamed both sides and/or made a cover tackle 'out wide' or operated near his centres? He, and pretty much every other lock in the NRL, exclusively play middle, like another prop but with more ball playing responsibility.

He's contracted.

We paid the boys slightly below what other clubs we offering at the time and I dont remember a single person blowing up about Jake resigning back then.

Is it overs in 24/25 based on his output/percieved output? Sure but clubs dont get to adjust players salaries on a yearly basis.

This fact is, regardless of Jakes stats, we are a better TEAM when Jake is on the field. Now you can stand in the corner and repeat 'Jake is overpaid' a million times but that will achieve a total amout of absolutely nothing.

So long story short and to answer your question of how long we can keep paying Jake so much.....2 more years until his contract is up for renewal.
Ok so we’re a better team with Jake on the field…..right.

100% we are, surprised thats up for debate tbh.

Our win percentage goes through the floor when he's not there. I believe its worse then Tom.....though I don't have those numbers to hand atm.

At a very quick glance in the last 3 years we have lost 7 of the 8 where Jake hasnt been there.

Thats a 12.5% win rate and that one win was the Dolphins.

Add in the Roosters semi where he got concussed and went off and the game got away then its worse.

Jake makes the team better, it's pretty straightforward.

Even in games he played last year there were several instances where the opposition clearly turned the momentum against us when Jake was on the pine…

I am with you @Disco - it amazes me that there are fans who obviously do not notice the difference when Jake is not there …

There's a few fans of the Eye Test on here. Great statistical analysis, beyond the stupid surface level stats people preach on here. Seibold said the other day that one of the key statistics he uses is run metres/PTB, which is what these guys have been posting about for years.

He did his salary predictions for 2025, based upon a wide range of calculations, importantly including accommodation for the salary cap, min wages, etc. You know what salary it came up with for Jake?

$936,466.

Some of you act like he's worth 120k. He is not. He's the second highest rated lock, now that Carrigan is a prop. Funnily enough, I don't see Navale on this list!

This is purely based on what he provides on the field - not even his leadership.

It also determines that we have both DCE and Haumole on unders, and Turbo on overs.

Jake is not our problem!!!
Its such a great site, they do some really interesting stuff.

Living in the highlight reel/supercoach era.

Also Jake aside.

Show me a club (outside of the juggernaut that is Penrith) that doesn't has a contract or two that is deemed over valued. Just like clubs will have plenty of under valued contracts too. It is the nature of sports and multi year contracts.

Even the Storm have NAS on like 800k

Am I the only one who thinks Radley is overated?

Like dont get me wrong good player but the way the media and fans talk him up.

If he wasnt a larrikin and played at the Raiders he just be another above average first grader but a step below the elite.

The Rorters, everyone wants to play for them and take unders.

I think he has fallen off a bit. Was in his prime 3-4 years ago. A very good player on his day, but those days have dwindled
