Surely this talk about Jake playing hooker is an early April fools joke?? If its true it really is an admission of failure by the coaching staff to not have a recognized 9 in the squad. I cannot believe that this has not been addressed and the first few games are either going to show that it is not an issue or that it is a glaring one!

I think it is the backup if Croker gets injured. Des said confidently in the pre game presser that he thinks Croker is fit enough to play the full 80

Never a nurse Al (though I admire them enormously) but an unusual working path. Teaching, a bit of sports journalism and film reviewing, worked at the entertainment centre so I could see every act that came to town for nothing, worked at an airline so I could travel the world for next to nothing, about to sell my Eastern Suburbs dog walking business and thinking about what's next!

Sorry about the nursing reference , probably confused previously when you mentioned you had a friend in the medical field last year . I hope you aren't serious. Funa has good game awareness and speed! He is a better winger obviously but at fb elliot was safe at catching the ball. Nothing more and he was an idiot! How many times did he NOT pass the ball arrrrgh thinking about the squandered opportunities hurts my head. I can still see dce throw his arms up in disbelief after Elliot dummied to him when he wss unmarked then got smoked by the opposition fb. That happened alot

Jake is too slow to play hooker he would be a similar version to Croker. We need speed and someone that challenges the defensive lines and puts them on two minds. We don’t have that with Croker and will not have it with Jake at hooker.

I think Jake has plenty to offer for shorter minutes in the front row rotation however the difficulty is he is costing too much of the cap for that role.

The only ways to resolve how much Jake takes up of the cap. Is ride out his contract with the assistance of 3rd parties for others etc or move him on.

Given how much Turbo improved in the last 6 months with a different training regimen I think Jake just needs to train differently. He needs to train for power and not endurance.

Remember that Jake is the current captain of the blues. Granted he did not play big minutes but he was picked for that position for a very good reason due to the innate value he can add to a playing group…we just need players around him that complement him better..
