I actually don't mind that one. Would mean the pressure is all on Barrett and the players to deliver. No more excuses. And Barrett would effectively be auditioning for his next role, so even more incentive to deliver.
Nooooo 😱

Baz and his players will just snuggle up and cry over their breakup :sweating:

Clean break and bring in a coach who'll kick ass :wait:

Or the club just can't announce it because they have a head coach (Barrett) who hasn't resigned or been fired.

Until there is closure with Baz, no coach can be named as it would involve a payout to him from the club...something Penn sounds unlikely to do given he feels the club has not done anything wrong.

Yes , to an extent BUT riddle me this!

Baz resigns and gives them 12 months notice ( 6 months ago).

Penn’s don’t have much to stand on in terms of not paying him!!

Oh sure they are hoping he gets picked up elsewhere and then asks for a release BUT they’d know if this doesn’t happen that they have a payout of at least 6 months salary.

So they know it’s going to cost money, it’s just the amount SO how does this bear any relevance to the next coach??

I've heard something positive may or may not happen at some point possibly in the near future that should involve the clubs management which will make the majority of supporters ecstatic.

Some possibly won't like the news but there is also something for those supporters that could or could not happen which would also have a positive effect of their support for the club.

Just saying.
The Membership Team need good news ASAP, as I can't see why anyone would sign up for another 7 win game year :tmi:

I heard that Manly can't hire/announce a new coach whilst they still have Barrett or they will have to pay Barrett out there and then.

At the moment he is doing whats asked of him as head coach, did the end of season reviews and is now on leave. Expect him to front up first day back, unless he is paid up before then.

He has Penn in a corner, yes he has resigned, the terms of his contract was 12 months notice and he is quite happy to just hang around.
Your move Penn $$$$

Yeah, but we all know he's a dud and we've had three years of him ..... if he was going to deliver he would have and we still have the demountables. Those damn demountables are the root of all our problems.

The demountables are only an issue for the people on here who keep prattling on about them, mate.

They were never in Barrett's problems raised.

That was a line sprouted by the village drunk, Rothtool.

My take....

Baz didn't resign as far as I understand it, he gave the club an ultimatum to secure the things he feels he requested in his contract.

Club feels they are in the middle of providing those requests.

Baz wants out because of the time it's taking.

Club is prepared to take its time in securing those requests.

Baz wants out and his manager leaks stories to the media.

Club happy for Baz to walk.

Baz doesn't want to walk empty handed.

Club hasn't done anything contractually wrong apart from the delay in securing Bazs requests so they are happy to go to court.

Baz and club will come to a payout figure significantly less than what hes contracted to earn but saves both parties from a long drawn out court battle.

Club has already secured a replacement but can't announce until the Baz situation is resolved.

Possibly right.

But my contact said “ 2-3 weeks” so that doesn’t add up!!

Mind you, you are very possibly more right than he is!

Is it Allan, Alan and Ian Thomson/Thompson and Ray Ritchie?
