Is Tom's best position fullback?

Going against the grain of "we are ****e" posts for a minute. Is Turbo even really a fullback? His defense is below average and his positional play hasn't improved in 3 seasons. I'm starting to wonder if it's not even his best position.

Surely you would think he can learn positional play. It’s his job, he has the resources - someone just needs to help him sort it out. Maybe a good coach?

I think he is easily our best option at 1.

The fact that he (like all fullbacks now) defends in the line now from online defence hasn't helped him.

The over-hype he carries is also a massive burden.

I think his best position, much like Inglis, is probably centre. But it's not a popular opinion and I'm not sure who'd take his spot at fullback anyway.

I think FB is his position, he just needs to lose the Holden cup style low percentage play attitude with some of the things he does in attack.

I don’t think that his issue is that he is resting on his laurels, in fact I think the problem may be the opposite - he is trying too hard to live up to expectations. Needs to just simplify his game and improve his defensive positioning (if he is able to in TBs system)

I mentioned Tom to centre alot over the last couple of years and pretty much got shot down . I still think its his position.

Iv been a fan of Tom since day one, but the more I see the more he looks like a centre to me. And a good one.

We have a fair few backs off contract, id be purchasing a fb and shifting him.

Here we go. May as well put my bit in. I had a bad feelng about this game. Firstly Wests have two fine halves, we have one. Makes a big difference. I wonder if the DCE/Hastings issue disrupted their focus. We certainnly could have used Hastings out there. I'm not so against Tom T at centre but the only full back I could think to do a reasonable job would be Anderson. I'm also wondering whether Kelly should move closer to the action. He's got the moves to be a 5/8 and would reduce his need to rush at the defence and likely miss his target. He defends well close in but seems a little uncertain when the other player has space. And his style of play is more suited I believe to 5/8 play. Knows how to set players up, which we desperately need close in.

I would like to see him do that on the field to all of his teammates. Especially a certain winger.

The service from dummy half is as slow as a wet week. The million dollar man goes missing all too often. It’s left to TT to pull something from nothing. When it works it looks great, when it doesn’t it looks horrid.

Let's move Matt Wright to Fullback. Judging by people's thoughts on Turbo, he must be a better option.

Fair dinkum give the guy a break. He is one of the best young fullbacks in the game.
