Tom can play anywhere and when he is on it doesn’t matter where he plays
Garrick is a better winger than a centre
Lehi plays better when he is fullback
Koula is the best centre at the club
Tom will fit in and play to the best as he can and will improve with less of a workload
The other wing spot Talau or Saab take your pick
The forwards just need to hold there own the Manly pack is not great to dominate most packs
Interesting times ahead
But something had to change

Haha I wish I was a young fella mate. I think you know where I’m coming from with my comments. Of course it’s less depressing when we are winning but it’s the constant bagging of players & overall players performances even when we do win! If it’s not Garrick that’s bagged it’s Koula or Saab or Turbo or Jurbo or Aloiai or Brown or Brooks or Sipley….. I could go on. From what’s posted in here the only player worth keeping is Lehi. The rest should go…& when we do get new players they’re still not good enough. I dunno…

I agree. Funny enough, I recently responded to another poster on a different thread who was complaining the players weren’t being held responsible enough for our poor form.

I’m not bagging the Trbojevics mate, I’m disappointed that we can’t rely on them. Tom has been plagued by injury the past 4 years. Jake has slowed down considerably. I only wish it was different. Both have not been value for the money outplayed. I’m talking about name calling etc. I have not called any player a derogatory name. Others here do!

You have summed it up perfectly….and I don’t think the forwards issue can be fixed this year

So Tom it’s not a shock to play centre for NSW and Australia but it’s a shock when it comes to your club.
You are obviously not aware of this but you’ve had an injury plagued career which at times requires change,and this the change.
Don’t spoil yourself Tom by acting like you are so entitled, this change could be more beneficial to you more than the club.

He played a game at centre last year FFS (and did bugger all). Why the shock?

Manlys game plan of passing it to Tom will suffer as a centre but needs to
DCE game plan of passing it to Tom should improve depending on what side Tom plays
Dce game is copping it, but Toms form and DCE form are directly linked IMO . DCE works off Tom, not the other way around
Its why its a decade of the same

Agree...I'm inclined to think this is more about getting Reuben on the wing than Tom in the centres long term.

To a degree as there could have been a few dropped, however for someone who sees himself as a future origin player, he sure needs to lift & add some new facets to his game!

A winger is only ever as good as the guys inside them. we are playing like a busted arse so in turn Saab isnt getting to use his natural talents. whenever the team are attacking well Saab is a weapon. at the moment we have no forwards, DCE is way down on form, Tom is missing, Garrick was placed on the inside of Saab. the list goes on.

We need to call it how it is, Turbo would make light work of Doueihi 1 on 1 a few years ago at centre. If it really is just a confidence thing this is a great match up for him to get it back, I’m just not convinced that this is the problem.

Its unfortunate that Turbo has never been able to achieve his full potential (except maybe in 2021), owing to a horrid injury history.. He's a top tier player and at his best I would keep him at full back, because I believe potentially he's the best full back in the game. But Manly has an outstanding understudy, who also needs to be recognised. For now I think switching Turbo to centre and allowing young Hoppa to develop his skills at full back is the best option for the team. The team potentially looks far more dangerous with Turbo at centre and Hoppa at full back, rather than Turbo at full back and Hoppa on the wing. Hoppa is wasted on the wing. tI was OK while he was settling into first grade, just as Turbo had to initially sit on the wing for a few games but someone with that kind of talent needs to be more involved with the play Turbo should handle centre with ease. Hoppa should start to thrive. A better attacking look.

To be fair, some of Saab's reads in defence & attempted tackles are probably the reason for his demotion. Hopefully he is back sooner rather than later.

100%.......I just hope he is fit and ready to go. If not, the move will destroy his confidence even further. I have my doubts about his fitness and if his body can hold up any longer. I hope i am wrong.

Mate I've been one of Saab's biggest advocates, however he has a few things he needs to work on. Don't disagree with the your comments re the others, could have potentially dropped Garrick in his place and if we had better depth drop some of the other guys
