The way Walks has been talking lately, I think he's quite comfortable coming off the bench in the #14 jumper.

He's not just talking the talk either. He now looks so comfortable getting and giving whacks in the middle.

He might well be the most complete footballer currently playing the game. There is not one position on the field he now can't play at a pinch.

Played in the halves and fullback enough to know what he needs to do and where the ball needs to go.

Pretty sure he got pushed to back row for a bit last night.

He is looking fit, hopefully for that extra running needed to play more hooker from the bench.

He might have lost a yard. But he is now physically stronger, and more game aware, So much experience on his side. Has always demanded the footy and had a real presence on the field.

Come on DES. Give him a run at hooker.

Walker looked fit, sharp and keen, I thought he went well. Harper didn't get many chances in attack but his enthusiasm was evident, has a great attitude.

As one of the oft-declared "anti-Walker" brigade I must admit that he played very well and was extremely committed and passionate. I'd be delighted if he reproduces these qualities when playing for Manly this season.

He certainly seems to have matured and I think can show real leadership qualities. I still don’t think we will see him much in the centres this year, but picking him at 14 now is good for us as he can cover plenty of positions on the field (anywhere in the backs really as well as lock, and 9) He’s a walk up start for that 14 spot (no pun intended).

He's primed for a big year Hv8, he's going to be such a big weapon for us when opposition fwds start to tire. Can see great combos forming in this side, but the bigger one will be the T Turbo - Walker combo.
