Oddly, while we will again be clear underdogs, I think we are actually capable of racking up a score.
With Elgey gaining in confidence we can attack on either side, and - most importantly - we seem to have a team that really wants to get out there and play some footy. With that attitude we’re always a chance.

Manly has one ever beaten StG-Illw at the Gong once. In 2003 with 38-12. Best known for the day Barrett got face slapped by coach Brown. My memory though is Hoppa racing away for a try and running the last 15m backwards giving lip to the crowd.

Everyone lifts to play the defending the premiers ... so, as the defending second-last (and minus some of our top players) hopefully we benefit from the opposite syndrome, at least for the first half of the season.
Surely each team will unconsciously relax a bit when they 'only' have to play Manly!
