I wonder if DCE is the man?

I think he is one of the best halves, and I support our Captain, but he has some form now, Toovey gone, Foran, Watmough, Stewart x 2, maybe Balin? Brought Miles here as his BFFE... Now Hastings... No state of origin, I'm starting to wonder about our $10mil investment. Did we get it wrong from the get go?

We backed the wrong horse. However damage was done once he forced out gifty the culture was shot. Never seen a million dollar player need a 6 to hold his hand.
He had it easy pass it to snake, Matai or lyon while watching choc go forward on one leg broken rib.

Let's cut to the chase our captain is a good front runner a flat track bully when things get tough he go's missing. I don't like him as a captain or a player and we are stuck with him for another 10 years.

Players recruiting their mates happens everywhere (Myles). Ballin is speculative at best. Hastings has form at the Roosters.

Can we convince him to steal Zorba's sausage roll stash and start another rift?

Not always a fan of the man but he is our star player.

Our best player and our captain.

He has won Manly a good few matches with "clutch" plays.

Over priced? Probably but thats not his fault.

I would not swap him for any of the other 7's in the NRL.

He wears his heart on his sleeve, that I like.

I think we made the right choice between he and Foran, no question there. But I'm still undecided if we have got value for money. He hasn't levelled up like I had hoped he might. But all eggs are in his basket now so we just have to go along for the ride and hope that he can be the man. What are we looking at ? another 5 years isn't it, so let's hope for our sake Baz or someone can broaden his game influence abilities.

When his contract was announced I felt sick in the stomach. Iv said it before in another thread over 18mths ago, I’ll say it again, we will never ever win another premiership with him as our halfback on the ridiculous money he is on.

He goes missing when it counts, he is not a captain, he doesn’t inspire the other players around him. And quite obviously when he has a tiff with other teammates he goes running to the coach or his manager. Obviously rubs other players the wrong way, which is a terrible trait to have as a leader.

We have players being booted from the club, players wanting to leave the club and can’t attract players. Its DCE that’s the problem. Fuc$ing insanity...

Always gives 100% can't knock him in that area, tries too hard at times.

Lacks composure and doesn't play straight enough, throws too many under passes which is lazy and encourages side ways movement more than is necessary.

Plays ok when deep off second man plays(in the past) or on the short side when it is flat deck happy hour.

Should of let both walk. We would be in a much better position in everyway possible..

He just needs to simplify his approach, position himself flat and short more in central positions and bring forwards off each hip playing straight during go forward sets, occasionally show and go to mix it up then add in the elaborate decoy runner play when the hard work has been done after winning the grind.

No more crabbing around, throwing unders like he has game management skills, run straight, position yourself flat to encourage forwards to tag along and take the line on.

Yes i know he is basically a 5/8 and hasn't really played central for the most part of his career, but he has to bring this element into his game.

Oh please, how the fuk does DCE get the blame for all the above.

G Stewart leaving had nothing to with DCE - Toovey signed off on it during the days of two owners and infighting.

Foran and Watmough thought Toovey was a crap coach and wanted Brad Arthur to coach- so they posioned and lied to Manly with the full intent of going to Parra.
B Stewart supposedly had some issues but never left Manly.
Ballin was tossed aside by Bozo.

Hastings has a track record of being sacked from two previous clubs.

Remember DCE never wanted to leave Manly, but the lying pos Foran strung Manly along when he was always going to Parra.

Absolutely we have the right man. Manly would be a basket case without him atm.

I know Jackson has form, we all know that much and he seems to have dug his own grave this time. But while I am a fan of DCE I do have to admit that when you look at the major player troubles within our club over the past 5-6 years.....the common denominator has been DCE. Whether they have been his fault or just a victim of circumstance, he has been the common factor.

Nice guy or not, he has his own tarnished reputation with a lot of players, and not just those from Manly.

A lot of different opinions here.

Funny thing is I don't disagree with hardly any of them.

Some great input here imo.
Is that double dutch for "I disagree with most of them?"
To not disagree with hardly any of them mean you disagree with most of all of them, or do you take a neutral stance with pretty much everything?.
