Just heard on the two o'clock news that Beetson, Lewis and others are starting to come out and bag the idea of Howard being some sort of Kingman in the RL.  I'd hope that our very own small s svengali, Vidmar, would put my views to our Manly bosses. 

Queenslanders dont want someone from NSW running the league - They want a puppet like Gallop doing it.

i actually think its a smart move, think about the connections he would have! Add to that he is a businessman whom is articulate, therefore negotiating and convincing people would be no problem for lets say the new broadcasting rights agreement.

Having said that the lack of sports administration credibility is an offset, sure he is a St George fan, but I'm a manly fan and that doesn't mean i should know how to run the NRL.

We need the CRL, NRL, NSWRL, QRL all under the same organisation and Howard would make an ideal person. He is a sports fan, he is a
rugby league fan. He would be more in touch with the people that the last two Labor PMs.

Yesterday's Tele front page was like a bombshell from hell. Howard should aim slightly lower and stick to running a separate body looking at player misbehaviour. Noone has a better track record of misrepresenting the truth (tossed babies anyone?) and would have them all coming out of an enquiry looking like Mother Teresa.

Cliffy you are not God.  Get over yourself.  Howard is an old tart, pissing in the pockets of other like minded fascists.  If he was more in touch with the people, how come he lost his own seat?  Answer; it's because he's out of touch with the ordinary folk, the ones the League are trying to reach out to.  And besides, We'd get nothing out of the Feds with him in charge, Albanese hates the guy.

What will little Johnny do with his wallaby tracksuit if he is employed by the NRL? 

The only reason that he will head up the new venture is because he is the only person in Australia who can make Gallop look competant in comparison.
