Guaranteed entry to Harvard ?Zero surprises here , but interesting to read one of Cronk’s carrots was a guaranteed entry to Harvard and the cost to cover the fee’s.

In the same drawer you will find the Broncos hierarchy who had the one town team , all the money TPA's and resources and ended up with a wooden spoon as well as a team that can not make the top 8Guaranteed entry to Harvard ?

The Bronc are a great example.Points system would have some merit but then there is the problematic T P A issue . Think that there is still no general restriction on these additional arrangements . Still need the cap as a base requirement , guess that after that any worthwhile and fairer measure is worth considering . Manly 's general cap arrangements and player values seem pretty much in line and i am sure most other clubs for whatever reason .Just continues to revolve around the Roosters , Storm , possibly still the Broncs and previously the Eels and more recently maybe the Dogs for any noted discrepancies
Look, if it was a $30k course then it wasn’t a real Harvard degree. Possibly one of their one semester diplomas. They offer a bunch of these courses, enabling people to get a lite course in one or two subjects, but it is basically buying a “Harvard” certificate. It is not to be confused with actually going to Harvard.Guaranteed entry to Harvard ?

The NSWRL will implement a Player Points Index System in metropolitan and regional competitions next year. Will be interesting to see how it goes, particularly here in Central West NSW with Group 10 and Group 11 merging into a Western Super League of sorts. With the Dubbo and Orange teams having significantly more resources than the likes of say Cowra and Nyngan, it will be interesting to see if it evens the playing field a bit.as ive said before the cap needs to be replaced with a points-based system. keep a monetary value on total cap sure but have a points-based ledger that only allows for so many points on players as a club.
Better players obviously have much higher points value BUT if that said player was a 'real' jnr from the club they would get deductions against their overall value. if the said player was a 1 club player then again deductions. If the player made his NRL debut with the club more deductions.
If you are a rep player that adds points. if you represent your country that adds points. etc etc.
The points would be a fixed amount for each category so as soon as said player represents then its added from the next seasons points cap. the clubs would have time to work out the following years points and some sort of trade window should be implemented so clubes can if needed swap out or move on players that soak up too many points.
would make it more difficult for clubs like rooters that don't develop their own buying say a teddy who when at the top of his game was the best player in the comp. sure you could have him but it would take a large chunk of points.
its just a fairer version of the money cap that couldn't be rorted.
Agree , with the who’s who of Australian business on the Rorters board they can facilitate almost anything and it’s a really really BIG factor. These after footy incentives need to looked at since this obliviously favours the clubs who have the money and contacts.
Yep you are on the money thereGuys like Politis treat the NRL as a business, and are far better at business than the NRL administration. He brings in likeminded, business-savvy stakeholders who in turn bring new ideas to the table at a club-level that the NRL administration can re-appropriate league-wide. He knows how to attract and retain talent as any good employer does - other clubs frankly need to just do better.
Also, guys like Russell Crowe open the NRL up to audiences they are incapable of reaching themselves.
These guys are assets to the NRL Admin. As a result they will never crack down on this type of thing.

That was the issue they had no power to force him to be interviewed so it was case closed and the Donkeys dodged a bullet.Yeah Andrew Gee , would have thought that the then N R L admin would have had the capacity and means to delve further and pursue the matter but case closed apparently . In contrast to the very costly and really petty and prolonged Manly witch hunt a few seasons later

I’d say the Cheese was offered a lot more money by the Dolphins but you can see what the pull is for life post footy.
Quite possiblyYeah a brown paper bag pension!
