That performance against the tigers last week was an absolute disgrace.

Forget what happened with the Gold Coast and the knights which was also bad.

To turn up and play like we did against the tigers with the season on the line and for Dce to play one of the worst games I’ve ever seen from a half was just not acceptable.

I don’t care that Dce had a good game against the dolphins. We needed the most experienced playmaker in the comp to get us home the week before. Instead he threw terrible passes, refused to tackle and then just brushed it all off and had a blinder for his 350th so the media is now forgetting the awful performance the week before.
Agree but that Tigpies game was an embarrassment to most of our team… Chez was butt ordinary but he could have put on a Cleary-level display and it would not have mattered…

  • Beat both Dragons and Warriors (unlikely given our form and consistency this year)
  • Roosters lose to both Storm (likely with Walker out) and Rabbitohs (unlikely, but Souffs coming off the bye with a chance to knock their arch rivals out AND the potential of AJ breaking the record.. I'd at least like to see it)
  • Dolphins lose to either of Titans (unlikely) or Raiders (possibly, depends if Canberra already have top spot sewn up and are resting players or not)

Just seems like we need way too many things to go our way to make it, decent chance we miss out on F/A which would be frustrating given some of the poor losses we've had this year. But it is that reason we don't deserve to make it anyway, can't lose to 5 bottom sides in the Tigers, Dragons, Eels, Knights and Titans during the year and expect to be a top 8 team. Fluking our way in from here and getting dusted in week 1 would only paper over the cracks anyway so it's probably best we miss out, wouldn't it be great to see the Phins sneak in over the Roosters though.
Agreed. While it is possible that the Roosters will lose both their remaining games (please, Footy Gods, make it happen!), the chances of us winning three in a row again - no matter who we're playing - are not high.

If we can't do it, I'd like to see the Dolphins get there - anybody but the Roosters. But the way they've fallen in a heap the last few weeks suggests they might be in even more trouble than us.

They are as bad as us so we are I’d say “ a chance “.

Unless you're the premiers! Securely in the 8 yet lost to 5 bottom teams, plus had a draw with another.
Actually Chooks and Broncos have also both lost to 4 bottom teams, so far.
But for Manly unfortunately we've had too many poor games, and the cookie has crumbled

As much as it would be great to sneak into the 8th position you know , I know , everyone knows , with the list we have out we will be blown off the park , out in straight sets.

I’m not sure what’s worse , not making the 8, or watching a capitulation in the semi finals in our first game.
Ask the Tigpies fans, or at least the Leichhardt faithful. If you don't make the finals, you are nothing.

Ricky unlikely to rest players he wants the minor premiership.
If raiders beat Tigpies this week (which they will) then the minor premiership will be locked away before they face a road trip to Redcliffe the week before finals…

Imo they will rest half the squad…

How do you work out that?

Melbourne are 2 points behind the Raiders and have a 86 point better differential.

If Melb win their two matches, Canberra will have to play their strongest side in the last round, otherwise Melb are minor premiers.

Yep, hand up on that one…

Not sure how I got the math wrong but in my head I had them 4 points clear going into last round…

Ahhhh senility, welcome aboard friend…

Well since we’re dreaming, we don’t need Roosters to lose both games. If Storm do a number on the Roosters and we somehow rack up big wins in both our games we can make it.

Yep, Storm win by 22

We win by 24 points twice, we make the semi's by 2 points on four and against 😂🤣

Easy peasy.

I think they’ve had a couple of byes not long ago so may not need to rest too many. Big Papa probably, but most of their players are quite young

Also would want to keep momentum going rather than go into finals off a loss?

Maybe more likely to rest a couple this week than next

We have no chance as the Roosters will beat the Rabbits in the last round.
I've heard that Latrell and a few others will be back for that game, and they'll certainly be up for it.

Absolutely no guarantee the Roosters win that IMO.

I think the odds are a lot greater for us, now that the Dolphins would be writing themselves off, and that Sam Walker is also out this week.

We are forgetting the Finns too… they probs beat Tits this week and then may play a Raiders line-up assured of a home semi and resting players… currently have the best F&A too…
They need to tighten up their defence but big chance they could get over the top of both us and the rorters…
I can’t see Raiders resting players. Unless Melb lose against Roosters (at which point we are done anyway) or Broncs.

We just need to go out and do our thing.

Unfortunately, as positive a guy as I am, I can see a loss against the Dragons this week.

Dragons always seem to knock us over.
