Have you tried going to Philly?maybe calf strains can be ridiculous though, but thats more at my age. I tore my calf about 4 yeas ago, took forever to heal and it re-tears every year

Yeah but only for the cheesesteakHave you tried going to Philly?
Frustrating. The concern is overstated, but then he has had a 'great off season training' 'never been fitter' and played half a game, with zero run metres. And a history of calf injuries. This all seems a bit melodramatic based on a calf strain where he'll like miss one game
Actually, he's played three full games as five eighth - one in 2021 & two in 2022.Should be the next great Manly talent, but has not played a full game in his chosen position.
I tore a calf quite badly running along a sandy shoreline in WA a few years ago. There was a soft spot I sunk into, took ages to heal!Personally I find the best strengthening for lower legs is not weights, but sand running, beach sprints
No, just that he has a history of calf injuries going back to the Juniors. ChronicThis all seems a bit melodramatic based on a calf strain where he'll like miss one game
For Schuster, it has to be a strain of the calf muscle itself (for him to be available in round 3) - a tear in the calf muscle would take much longer to heal.maybe calf strains can be ridiculous though, but thats more at my age. I just read an article that mentioned it was a torn ligament. Don’t know how accurate that is though. For Schuster, it has to be a strain of the calf muscle itself (for him to be available in round 3) - a tear in the calf muscle would take much longer to heal.
If it was damage to ligaments / tendons associated with the calf muscle - which is what may be happening with you, @Dan - these things take much longer to heal. Here's why - it's a blood supply issue:
Why Tendons and Ligaments Heal More Slowly Than Muscle
Hello everyone, I often get the question why certain injuries take a while to heal. It is very normal to get impatient with healing time and expect some pains to reduce quickly. However, some soft tissue pains or injuries take a longer time that what we would expect or want. What you have to...www.mckimchiro.com
Probably not accurate - from the club: "With the Sea Eagles having a bye in round two, Schuster should be available for the round three match against Parramatta Eels at 4 Pines Park."I just read an article that mentioned it was a torn ligament. Don’t know how accurate that is though.
Tosh Schustervic.Has to be asked since Schu is injured for at least round 1.
Cooper Cust.I think johns should and will fill in at 5/8th. His form in the trials was great and he did a decent job at the storm too. Weekes looks great but I think he’s better off covering other positions.
