Great season- bad game

I think this one is more the respect these two have earned from the senior players who Seibold values the opinion of.

In Garricks case many ex players in the media like the supporters didn’t understand the move from left wing to right centre and Koula from right centre to left centre, was a big shuffle in the scheme of things and it only got worse for Garrick as the season went on, I dare say some of the players read news articles and listen to the odd podcast, I don’t think they will persevere with this after round five if it stays the same next year.

Croker was very poor today with his ball distribution, a few of his passes hit the grass, I don’t think he starts at nine in many games next season.

In short he makes the changes I am hoping we get one or two surprises like young Hoppa next season.

Is that a serious comment.

Brad Parker had respect amongst the senior playing group.

Seibs had the balls to get rid of Parker and force him into retirement as he couldn't convert to a 2nd rower.

He now needs to do the same with Garrick and Croker and put Garrick back at wing and replace Croker as starting hooker.

Seibs needs to coach his lazy arse, slow forwards to hunt and defend as a real pack - not a bunch of individuals.

Good season but certainly not a great one. Our two biggest losses for the year came in the last 3 weeks, one last night and one in the last round playing at home, for a home final against a Sharks team with nothing to play for. I absolutely loved us knocking the Dogs and their insufferable fans out last week but we had a similarly disappointing end to the season in the same way they did

A really bad end of season, Tigers, Sharks and Roosters all spanked us.

I never thought we were a top 4 side so I guess it was a decent season.

Hard to see us improving considering it hinges on one player. He played 20 of our 26 matches this year..

So, can Seibs just accept Garrick and Croker didn’t work and move on past his ego??? That is the ultimate question
Honestly it's the same reason aloai gets picked also (they are all popular members of the squad or senior leadership so no way Seibs will drop them) which is frustrating!

I get that each club has a leadership group or a senior playing group that sets the standard. But you can’t have players like Croker and Aloai that don’t even justify being in the team.
We haven’t addressed the dummy half role since the demise of Manase and the defence has been bad all year and nothing changes.
I don’t understand why supporters get called pretend supporters for stating the obvious; we all want Manly to succeed but a few star players are papering over the cracks in the squad, so unless these are addressed we will continue to be be a bottom of the 8 team at best.

Yeah, and not a lot to enthuse about either, Navale and Jazz, that's about it. Everyone talks about a big signing is coming. But maybe it's not, how much do we really have left in the piggy bank to spend for 25. Time will tell i guess.

Compared to last year it was a good one, winning most of our games at Brookie is special and something that has eluded us for a while. I am glad it is over it is too stressful watching the likes of Sabb and Garrick missing important tackles but it is enjoyable watching them score points and kick goals. Hoppa was a real find and Koula will improve we just need a decent hooker and we can challenge again next year.

A Good year. I couldn't go as far as Great. But Absolutely smashed in that last game.

The positive. That smashing might just be the punch in the mouth we needed. We are still a long long way off.

Seibold really needs to look at our list and what he needs to keep his team even just progressing forward

I think his biggest challenge. How does he stop this aging and slowing list being stale and past it's used by date? Keep it relevant in this faster more mobile evolving game.

Coach got in the experienced blokes he needed the last couple of season.

But against better opposition those older statesman look so slow, a couple more younger bucks in amongst them needed IMO, ideally with a year or 3 of first grade under their belt, blokes that can be mentored for the big moments, but ideally we need forwards who can put pressure on for a starting spot straight away.

This game has got even quicker in the last 12 months.

A couple of astute purchases in the forwards are needed.

We might have a couple of Ben Kennedys types in our list right now, who can teach and show the way, but do we have enough of the younger blokes to learn from that experienced wisdom, who can be this teams next era, for a decade?

I'm sure the plan was Jake, DCE, Turbo, Brown etc can win us the comp in 2024. But unfortunately they need a little more energy and speed around em to even be in with a chance.
