The preliminary final I attended has 26900 people in attendance , basically 50% capacity, which means **** all as everyone crowds the exits / buses / trains on the way out.

Ever since he lied about the peoples poll on weather the Diane Celento Childrens Hospital name should be changed to something else, and got found out he doctored the poll numbers and nothing happened to Miles, wow !!. Imagine Miles as Premier, he talks like a Robot and he'd be wearing old Qld SOO jerseys at press conferences.....unbearable !!

Agree even at 50% there are still hoards of people everywhere at Suncorp, Caxton St and the public transport points around the stadium. Depending on numbers today, they should move it to Townsville. At least that way it’s not postponed tomorrow.

Think that i heard a few moments ago that the N R L may consider postponing the G F if the crowd capacity is reduced below 50 % . Vaccination rates would be a bit higher then the QLD state average in the S E of QLD so may be able to contain it successfully . Main cause is apparently an aviation pilot coming in from overseas and initially spreading in the Brisbane area , just so common an occurrence all over Australia with returning overseas air crew . High price to pay for lack of dedicated quarantine facilities outside the capital cities which really should have been operating at the start of last year ..

A very apt description.

Queensland has been appalling for a long time , Palachook and her attack dog sidekick Miles have been more interested in scoring political points and bringing down Scomo than anything else.

The fact that we are so far behind in the vaccine take up is testament to that.

All of the Premiers are political animals and the power through this has gone to their heads.

I have wondered for some time if the federal government stopped their support payments how quickly things might change.

By the way they are all guilty , it’s a *ing madhouse at present with no one really working together ti get us out of this *.

Mate, I couldn't disagree more, we've had a relatively normal life for the last 5 months. My family all live in Sydney including my 87 year old father and it's been an absolute nightmare. The Qld Gov have not only given us a normal life but allowed the NRL to give us entertainment for the last 4 months. I can't believe anyone would criticise our leaders as we've been able to socialise, go to restaurants, movies, sporting events etc etc. It's now turning to custard coz we've let people from NSW in who have lied about their status which in turn has jeopardised the GF. Yeah open the borders everyone and watch our state turn to ****e.

Some interesting stories I’m reading about the “ culling “ process with fans who bought tickets at 9.02am on Monday ( before the 4.00pm public ticketing opening ) being booted whilst mates who bought on Monday night at 7pm still remain.

Apparently unless you’ve asked for a refund you just got an email confirming that your ticket purchase would be refunded pretty quickly.

A difficult process all round I guess but gee that’s a bit tough.

Moree family, pre border bubble time has their son ( 13) at boarding school in Brisbane.

Josh is severely hurt in a rugby scrum , and when I say severe it looked like he’d never walk again.

No family in Brisbane , no support network ( other than the school ).

Was in the children’s hospital for almost a month , 3 very major operations.

Moree, just over the border , no Covid at the time ( in fact there’s never been a case there ).

The family tried everything to be able to be with their son ( remember he’s 13 and by himself ) , letters to the Premier , letter from the Prime Minister to the Premier.

Nup, no , stay in Filthy NSW.

As I said , lacking any humanity.

And this is just one story , and there’s hundreds.

Many I’m afraid.

I’m surrounded where I live ( all nice people by the way ) with people whose families are all located within 20 minutes of where they live.

They are mostly retired , and other than for a holiday have no reason to go to other states , their worlds are totally here.

And , they love our Palachook , think she’s the greatest politician to ever live.

However , if you are in business , especially the tourism business , and absolutely if you live on the border , you hate her with a passion.

And especially if like me you have family located just over the border, we have a new grandson we haven’t seen since he was born.

My comments about her are not politically ( as in party ) minded, this pandemic should transcend party politics.

They however relate to her , and her cohorts complete lack of any humanity through this whole thing.

Like the poor young girl stuck in quarantine whilst her father died on hospital. Now I get she’d come from overseas BUT let her , dressed in full PPE, come in and say goodbye to her Dad.

And the pregnant girl from Ballina who needed to get to her closest hospital when she had complications with one of her twins , but nope, zero humanity , just let one twin die because of the delay ( she had to go to Sydney ).

There are literally hundreds of stories like this and that’s why I think Palachook wins the worst of the worst.

Anyway , I wasn’t trying to start a ****fight and don’t really think this is the correct medium to do so anyway so I’ll shut up now.

Oh I forgot to add, yes Joshie after 3 very major operations is walking again but will never be able to play contact sport again.

And will probably face a lifetime of back issues.

By the way , after he left the children’s hospital he was able to be transferred by ambulance to Goondiwindi, where he was transferred to a NSW ambulance to take him home.

During that time his only support was the school principal/ sports master.

13 years old , just tragic.
