Jeeze what a beat up this is with Walsh..

BRISBANE BOSS HITS OUT: Broncos CEO Dave Donaghy calls for NRL to crackdown on Reece Walsh treatment with tougher suspensions.

Donaghy reveals he had spoken to NRL CEO Andrew Abdo about protecting Walsh.

Talk about putting pressure on the referees..

Just let him walk past unopposed, that's what everyone wants to see 🙄 Seriously, the better you are, the more you get targeted. Always has been always will be.

Cliffy had the hands that were just magical, he could make footy poetic, graceful just mesmerising to watch.

The Hammer similarly has been blessed with a similar kind of magic. Just watching him run, it's graceful, it's effortless it's just mesmerising to watch.

Jack Elsegood had the speed without effort but I've never seen someones running style as pretty as the hammers. Poetry in motion.

Newtown's plan to become part of Perth's NRL bid has ended after businessman John "Singo" Singleton confirmed the club has pulled out of the running.

The Jets emerged as a shock contender in the race for the NRL's 18th team, and were prepared to join forces in the west.

However, The Sydney Morning Herald revealed a text message from Singleton had ended all hopes as the iconic businessman took a shot at the North Sydney Bears in the process. The Bears are likely to join forces with Perth, instead of the Jets.

JWH finally got his just deserts after failing to get a downgrade at the judiciary - a 4-game suspension, instead of the usual meaningless slap-on-the-wrist fine, due to his loading. Karma prevails and good on the MRC/judiciary for not being swayed by his milestone game on Sunday or anything else.

Let's change it now that Brisbane suck🤦🏻‍♂️
Origin and not having an equal home/away comp has tilted the competition "integrity" for years!

What a load.

1 - this issue has been raised on and off for years. Usually by Bennett.
2 - If tom was fit Manly would've had 4 out as well. with Tom injured around games 1 and 2 we had '4' out anyway. But no bleating by phil then.

Whilst I do think some tweaks could be made to the scheduling, it's disingenuous to state that this is the reason Brisbane are rubbish 'this year'.

With their constant 7 day game schedule and most of the time at home benefits, they should be travelling just fine, thanks.

(though i was surprised to read in the combined thread....that the Brisbane fans see the constant Friday night games as a hindrance not a benefit. Seriously delusional, and we'll have that hindrance anytime thanks.)

My Bronco friends, who are members, believe it’s a hindrance as well, but only from a fan point of view.Theyd much prefer the Sunday arvo slot as there’s no rush from work,no late night and it’s a much better time for kids

Pay wall?

ok...read this then.

A footy referee has been banned from working games that involve the South Sydney Rabbitohs in an extraordinary turn of events from the NRL.

Saturday night's game between Cronulla and the Bunnies was clouded by awkwardness after Kasey Badger was in charge of the bunker while her husband Gavin Badger was in the Souths' box assisting Ben Hornby.

Gavin, a former leading referee, has been a consultant for the Rabbitohs for two years and the NRL has therefore deemed it unnecessary for Kasey to officiate any games involving the club.

According to News Corp, the NRL was unaware of the potential conflict of interest before the Sharks game and admitted it was 'not a good look'.

'It won't happen again,' head of football Graham Annesley said.

'We do not question Kasey's objectivity or professionalism but we acknowledge it's not a good look.'
