Garrick

Hope he stays. Not the best back in the NRL but he's pretty good. Wouldn't be shocked if he made the Kangaroo tour. Best thing is he always plays with heart and effort.
He'd be brilliant for the new Perth side even just from a marketing point of view. Very photogenic and 'clean cut'. If they offer him a motza then good luck to him

Huh, could've sworn I made a thread about our goalkicker for next year discussing this and got shouted down. We're paying Garrick a premium for his 'versatility' and goalkicking, both of which have statistically been in decline since his debut.

The reality is he's a winger, and a really good one but he's on a centre's wage - something's got to give.

Garrick is the definition of a clubman, that's why he'd be a prime target for Perth or PNG. If he left it would make the backline puzzle a bit easier to solve.

Yep let’s get rid of Garrick, Koula, Saab et al & watch all the whining when we still struggle in seasons to come. Get rid of our best backs to accommodate forwards. Brilliant! Keep the Trbos on more than the aforementioned are on. Brilliant again. Thank Fu<k you don’t manage the clubs salary cap distribution 😂

If another club is willing to pay significantly more for him when his current contract expires at the end of next year, we would either have to upgrade him or let him sign elsewhere.

This is not a unique problem. Teams lose good players all the time because they have 30 players to fit under the salary cap.

Jamal Fogarty signed with us for the same reason.

Completely agree, Scorpio. And even though you can make a good argument that we get more value out of a player like Garrick, who is rarely injured and always gives his all, than someone like Turbo, I can see why it could be best for him and the club to part ways. I'd like him to stay, but I'll understand if he doesn't.

Can never question his effort.

Excellent goal kicker.

He is not Lomax or To'o but I would not swap him for many other wingers.

Needs to be re-signed and then released to Perth if the big bucks come his way.

Mate take a chill pill!! Why so fu<ken agro? You have your opinion I have mine….end of story!

What aggro are you talking about??

But here is something for you.....if Koula played for any of the current top 8 sides, he wouldn't be a centre and wouldn't be a fullback.

That some class him as our best centre tells the problems we have.

That’s absolute rubbish. Go ahead & compare his stats to any of the top centres in the game

If Garrick goes it's probably for the best. He's worth more on the open market than we can pay him without throwing out the balance of our salary cap, and by then hopefully Willett will be ready for the NRL.

Has Willett improved his speed since we last saw him in a pre season trial game. If not, maybe good as a backup only.

Possibly unpopular but what if Turbo retires end of 26. You then have Hoppa or Koula at fullback. Garrick is your next in for me. That’s 3 of your back 5 with Saab/Talua/Willet/Clayton options for the other 2 spots
