Just a little context around Manly's loss to Tigpies ...it's not at all unusual for teams to have a lull or flat spot as they lead-in to finals. In the last 2 weeks top sides Panthers Chooks Sharks Storm, Dogs, and Manly have all dropped a game, and all (except Storm who rested 11 players) had started as favourites.

Storm look in best shape currently in the all-important health category, but even they will have Munster and Pap playing with injury. All the top 4 have a huge advantage in having one fewer game they need to survive, because in any game a key player can be rubbed out with injury or suspension.

Manly are still well and truly alive. Another strong showing v Sharks will give us some serious momentum, which aside from health is the other crucial factor at this time of year. All the pieces probably won't fall into place this time, but ... they might!

Should be a very interesting month ahead!

To me now if the roosters with all there injuries go on and win it it will be roosters greatest title in history.

I can’t see them getting anywhere close to the premiership now would love us o knock them out week 2 finals but that’s for the future we need to concentrate on beating sharks this weekend at home first.

Wonder if there'll be any complaints about the Allianz playing surface...
Or what’s the bet the sombrero club ask the nrl to grant them some form of salary cap relief and by some form of miracle they get it.

I know this won’t happen but I don’t trust the NRL and uncle nick one bit.

Don't want to get too far ahead of ourselves as we'd need to win 4 in a row (something we've only done twice in the last 7 seasons) but with the Roosters injuries yesterday we could potentially have a pretty good run into at least a prelim final in Melbourne. Knock off the Sharks who are already locked into 4th at Brookvale, into a home final against Cowboys/Dogs who we have already beaten both away this year, into a depleted Roosters at the SFS where we very well should have won this year had we turned up for the first 20 minutes. And even when you look at that game, the Roosters start was largely due to Walker (now gone) running rampant on our left edge where Burbo, who is now out of the 17 was defending in the centres.

All in our hands now. It would be disappointing to lose any of these games really and if there's ever a time to go on a real run and win more than a few games in a row, this is definitely it

Haven't you heard? Money-Bill is back in training and looking to slot into the 'depleted' Easts forward pack whilst Cooper Cronk has dusted off his dinner suit and when the appropriate funds have been transferred into his bank account he'll take charge of the Easts' backline as well as the kicking duties?

Thanks for posting the Roosters Brutal Adversity Injury Blow feathered friend

In the face of adversity some teams lift and some teams lie down and die without a fight
In the end winning is all about how much fight is within the might of the players that take the field on the day of the battle

We await to see how the Roosters will respond

I also heard Shame Hayne is coming out of retirement after a meeting with uncle nick on the golf course.

Real shame for the Roosters, after investing so much money into their roster. I mean, they’ve gone above and beyond any other team in building their roster. Sad to see that investment turn sour.
Yes, they’ve used approximately 16 other NRL clubs, plus the ARU, as their feeder teams in recent times.
