Three other clubs are chasing Feleti MATEO,Cronulla,Manly and Souths. With Manly being favourites at this stage.Feleti MATEO is a not happy boy,he wants to play lock or 5/8 but the Eels reckon he is a 2nd rower.
Souths are keen through Jason Taylor,Cronulla's keen because of Jim Dymock's connection with Feleti at the London Broncos.Manly's keen because Des Hasler rates Feleti very highly.
I would love to be playing cards with Denis Fitzgerald because he dont HOLD on to the good ones.He trows them away early and trys to buy them back when its over.

Posted on the Parra forum, nothing to back it up though, just add it to the rumour pile.

I watched Mateo in last years PL grand final and he killed them.

He is big, quite fast and has good ball skills. I would love to see him in manly colours next year.

Parra fans rate him highly. Imagine Parra losing Grothe, Tahu and Mateo in one year. ha ha. Obviously Hagan is having a big impact at Parra.

Tim Smith is also odds on the leave as well. Last one out at parra turn the lights off.

Who'd want Tim Smith? He makes M Monaghan look like Darren Lockyer.

Slight exageration? Nothing could make Monnas look like Lockyer.

It is well know that Wayne Bennett has tried to get Smith to the Broncos and he is not a bad judge of footballer ablity.

Remember Manly also made a play for Smith last year so we also must think that he has ability.

I doubt that too many players enjoy playing at parra and a change of clubs could see him improve immensley.

Mateo is a gun. Not a 5/8, but would be an awesome ball-playing lock.

Good to hear that Manly are in the hunt for decent youngsters as well as going all out and spending overs for blokes like Lyon and Orford.

Parra fans say he is the "next Jim Dymock"
But then again Tim Smith was meant to be the next Sterlo, Ben Smith was supposed to be the next NSW centre, Cordoba the next Webke, Reddy the next Karmichael Hunt.

Gee hagan must be setting the world on fire at Parra - 2 leading players have walked after Round 1 while a future star also wants out.

Seriously in this day and age is there any difference betwen a 2nd rower & loxk, if there is it is marginal & hardly enough for a player to walk out

I always thought of it that a 11 / 12 specialises on a different side of the field respectively, where as a 13 generally needs to be a tad more skilled, and required an ability to work either side of the ruck?

Mateo played for the Eels on the weekend.

Despite the big loss for the Eels, and the fact that they were absolutely outclassed.... Mateo showed his potential.

Wasn't outstanding (11 tackles, 50 metres from about 40 mins of footy) but he has a good offload and some of his tackles had a bit of sting in them. Plus one of his offloads produced the only Eels try.

He'd be very good coming off the bench instead of Bryant/Hall.
