Pre-Game Eels v Manly [Round 11, 2022]

Parra will be well up for this game as we belted them twice last year. We’ve also copped good hidings against teams this year where our last outing we had put them too the sword (Easts, Sharks, Broncs). This will be a real tough game. On the team list, I actually like it. Bulle’s had enough chances for mine and deserved to be dropped. He’s been dissapointing as I was expecting a lot more from him. Harper back with a point to prove. Surely he can handle Opacic. I’m also keen to see how he goes without Saab outside him. Hopefully he can bounce back. Off the bench or starting I don’t care as long as Schu is there. He’s obviously not match fit so off the bench makes some sense to me. Until Pasekas back I’m good with the middles. Bring on Friday.

Yep .. even a cursory glance at the results of games over the past decade would indicate that any past form is absolutely NOT an indicator of future form.

Week to week the results are a lottery.

I believe the team we are fielding is well capable of beating the worms.

But, then comes momentum, rub of the green and wobbly boots .. so in conclusion .. the answer is an armadillo or kumquat ..

I think you’ll find Schuie will most likely start.

He’ll add that additional dimension to our attack and really make a noticeable difference to Turbo (should he be closer to 100% than last week).

From what I saw of him in Brisbane colours last year he's nowhere near as effective, whether that's a result of Hasler or he's having trouble fitting in who knows but with his speed and size he should be a lot more effective than he currently is

He’s been better as a middle interchange player, not good in the second row position

This will be a hard game. It was obvious that the Broncos came after us for having out 50 points on them in magic round 2021. The Eels might look to do the same after we smashed them twice last year.

So you would think Davey starts so that he takes a bit of sting out of Ipap perhaps ?? He's been in good form on that right edge for Parra. Shoe can come on after half hour or so and Davey can comfortably go into middle forward rotation. That gives us 3 x middle boppas on bench to see out the game + Walker. Parra pack is decent size - all big units so we are going to need to keep bashing them in that middle third.

Wasn't charged apparently would you believe, direct contact to the head, Tupouniua had to be escorted off the field and played no further part in the game. Meanwhile Sipley gets a $1000 fine for a cuddle around a Broncs players legs. And they wonder why us fans get a bit despondent about the rulings they dish up.

I also married a Parra supporter and her son also , however cant get them to change , its going to be a horrible night for me i think , we don't like the wet , down on confidence and missing many .
Cant see any good for us , just hope they have a bad night and don't put 50 on us.
