Not so fast. The NRL told them not to do what they continued to do, since they self reported in July 2013. But Parra ignored their advice

Its funny seeing the Dalai lose it with Reporters @:D
That's the same thing the Broncos did.even when Andrew Gee did the Harry holt, the NRL couldn't make anything stick. The NRLshould just change their name to ASADA...both toothless tigers.

Funny how it only came to light because Parramatta self reported it.

The NRL salary cap auditors couldn't find a wooden spoon in parramatta's trophy cabinet they are so useless

Look this is a disgrace and why Smith and Greenburg should be replaced. Where is the real penalty? Suspended sentences are just hogwash. This League administration is incompetent. They have a salary cap for a reason. If its breached they should come down hard otherwise why shouldnt a side like Manly just spend beyond, get some top line players and pay the financial penalty with no other sanction. This precedent is going to haunt the league for a long time.

The donkeys are a protected species under the news filth cover, they wrote the book about rorting the cap and the drizzle merely copied it.

The whinging worms are a poor club and they are always the victims and it is never their fault!

My understanding with the Warriors is it was straight up all in the first grade squad. No 2nd tier crap or 20's I think that is where the difference is in the penalties. The Eels sound like a real schmozzle to go over all 4 caps is just terrible management. Can't believe Foran and Watmough really think they are a better club to go to, to escape the off field stuff. I would say the Eels are second behind us with the Tigers & Sharks right up there for bad press & that is probably because of the way the clubs are run.

Doesnt it bring a smile to your face, especially with what choc has said. he just looks even more stupid now. And the medias golden boy, Foran now is going to a team who's coach ignored the salary cap rules....and still couldnt make the 8. We make 8th spot and deem that a mediocre season.

This is a self-declared breach. So no discovery kudos to the NRL. To expose and eliminate the hidden rorts the NRL needs to think and act outside the square. Eg Every player required to declare to the NRL every dollar, and every benefit received. With false declarations resulting in automatic extended suspensions/non-registrations.

Clubs in breach should have the full amount of every breach automatically deducted from their future cap. In addition, a financial penalty and loss of competition points based on the amount of the breach.

For all of his faults and the way things were run under him...the current NRL Administration makes David Gallop look like a freaking genius.
Lol. That may be true, except for minor little facts like Gallop being instrumental (possibly the most important player) in the bankrupting of the game at a period (introduction of pay tv) which should have seen its immense resources multiplied exponentially. And then there's what he did to Brett Stewart.

To me a self declared breach is like a self declared genius. What's the real story?

Couldn't agree more Rex.

The NRL's salary cap auditors couldn't find a basketball in a garbage bag full of marbles. Every time a club is caught, it's self reported. Which makes me wonder why they confess.

So next year, they have Dropmough and Foran on the best part of 2million. Throw in Scott and Hopoate. They're not using back ended contracts so they must be using elastic accountancy.

The NRL should have handed out the same penalty the Scum got. Play all year for no points. Bellamy must be scratching his head wondering why the Slime got off relatively lightly (even though the fine is a big one.)

News flash idiots. You can't pay overs for everyone and expect to stay under the cap. And they thought Manly was a basket case ? Compared to them we are running like a Swiss watch.

It's good for a laugh though. Where is Chief ? Come back. We miss you.
