Hasler v Manly: Brutal legal letter ignites $1m war

Des Hasler is going for Manly’s “jugular” as his messy divorce from the Sea Eagles is about to go nuclear.

SUBSCRIBE to see how Hasler’s legal team will fight for the monster pay-out.

Behind a paywall ... @DUFFMAN do your thang.

Good on him. Hope it goes well and he gets a good payment for unfair dismissal and a toxic environment

That article should be reworded though

He's not going for Manlys jugular, he's going for Penn's jugular. Penn isn't manly

He is fully entitled to be paid out in full for 2023 .. no argument ... but also wanting paid for 2024 is just a money grabbing shakedown of biblical proportions ...

Yeah i’d be happy if the Penn’s learn a serious lesson about their two-faced politics

He was stuffed over in 2022 by management, took the fall for them then was bad-mouthed by Penn in the media while still employed. Then compromised to see out his contract under a host of conditions, yet was still sacked for ___?

The whole thing was the definition of unfair dismissal. At least some other person who loses their job in a similar way can use it as a precedent in court if successful

Nobody wants him he is finished.
He is certainly a more successful coach than Griffin or the bloke at Newcastle - two clubs that could be on the lookout for a new coach next season. In fact, more accomplished than the vast bulk of them.

He could easily get another gig. If the Dragons (for example) were happy to employ Griffin with his issues, they would jump at Hasler, when Griffin is shown the door.

Des has not only won two premierships as a coach and taken teams to the big one on three other occasions, he is widely regarded as a coach who develops a solid rapport and mentoring role with his players - (apparently) unlike Griffin. Ben Hunt accepted.
