What did he say? Before The Knight's presser, some numpty called Jake was making comments about Des, and he didn't realise he was getting filmed...
Who is this jake clown? Anyone know?
I loved it when the the old school teacher came out and schooled that wanker Jake Duke. Subtle, but effective. The line Annesely will have a sleepless night and wake up with his usual headache Monday morning was a good dig.
Along with he is expecting a call from him.
Put Jake Duke in his place.
Well done Des, challenge them as they are completely inconsistent..
Agree. Also, I like how Des didn’t say Cummins was bad, but that “he’s a much better referee than that...” (meaning tonight, of course)well said..'ably assisted'
Keppie's was all whiplash. It wasn't even high, I don't think he will miss a game for that!look at Keppie first point of contact. His chest hits the shoulder of Crossland.

Then look at Frizel on Marty.

Keppies on normal speed looks bad buts it’s the momentum of the tackle. If he gets charged they should fight it. Not sure why Frizel didn’t go to the bin.
Now the 3rd one - this is from the reverse angle and see Marty gets Saifiti’s shoulder to his jaw first before his shoulder hits Saifiti’s hence why he was thrown back in making the tackle. Saifiti was also bending in his knees.

Hopefully if charged the club can fight these out as Saifiti didn’t even need a HIA which is what I thought the sin bin rule was brought in for.
Given the current climate/crackdown,I have no problem with all three being penalised, dubious whether or not any deserved time in the bin.But what I can’t understand is why didn’t the bunker pick up the Frizell hit earlier, meaning Manly missed out on a penalty, especially given he was put on report.look at Keppie first point of contact. Agree. Given that it’s a contact sport, the whole thing reminds me of the Apocalypse Now movie quote,Well said Des...there is no $10k fine in any of that...Its what all the coaches would be thinking...Except Twenty, he doesn't think much at all. The game is f#cked

Papalii got 3 weeks for a similar tackle with player falling and with Marty’s record he may get up to 5. Hopefully common sense prevails and like Hetherington gets only fined and he had 2 high shots within a minute yesterday. No wonder players want to revolt against Vlandys.Given the current climate/crackdown,I have no problem with all three being penalised, dubious whether or not any deserved time in the bin.But what I can’t understand is why didn’t the bunker pick up the Frizell hit earlier, meaning Manly missed out on a penalty, especially given he was put on report.
We all saw it for what it was. A blatant fix of a game to appease the moron masses.look at Keppie first point of contact. His chest hits the shoulder of Crossland.

To trigger happy Vlandy’s, can’t live off past results, credibility is an extent to how Vlandy’s likes to be believed, or more accurately perceived to be believed.Vlandy's is a fabulous administrator and he has been great for League through COVID etc but his changes to rules mid season and without consultation needs to stop. He needs to be in charge - he is damn smart and great for revenue generation and therefore great for the game etc but he needs to back off and stop the in season rule changes and ensure all changes are consulted fully and agreed to or else he is gone. I hope the player revolt wakes him up.
I'm just surprised it didn't happen last week but that's because Parra were too dumb and sh&thouse to take advantage. We all saw it for what it was. A blatant fix of a game to appease the moron masses.
Is he though? Both Fox Sports and Nine are paying less fees to the NRL under the new TV deal - meaning that the NRL has less revenue.Vlandy's is a fabulous administrator and he has been great for League through COVID etc but his changes to rules mid season and without consultation needs to stop. This was the worst call of the game by a mile. How that wasn’t a penalty is ****ing ridiculousHow about when Fitzgibbon got a head knock tackling Keppie towards the end of the game when it was 12-10. He was on about halfway and went down in the play of the ball but was holding onto Keppie’s leg deliberately. Keppie placed the ball, but couldn’t stand because his leg was being pulled.
It was the most blatant ruck infringement I’ve seen and yet no penalty, AND play on even though Keppie dropped the ball and fell over.
Shocking referring which would’ve seen us attacking their line with a full set rather than kicking from the 40.
