They just did a nice peice on the Williams brothers and Fox said that was the reason Wolfie wasnt interviewed.

I cant understand it.

Look at the Rabbits, they ban poker machines then sign up a casino as a sponsor....allpositive media and again they are "positively" portrayed in the media...we are light years behind

Exactly.  Many here were saying he should forget the media at that point.

Not so with me.  Wolfie is one of our best media attractions, so he should be promoted and accessible to media.  I don't know about who is against the Wolfman doing media stuff, although I think it is the club who told him to desist, but I'm heartily sick of us not being featured in the mainstream press.  No wonder we don't have a sponsor.  Just where is our profile?  I think the owners need to put the broom through the promotions and sponsor dept and get someone in who does know how to do the job.  We have a wonderful brand, we are winners and at the forefront of the game.  What is the problem?

Its all about perception.

How hard would it be to just say that Wolfman was unavailable and wheel out some other player, rather than coming out saying he has a media ban.

He didn't do a lot of media in 2008. 

I'm disappointed in a media bans.  I can understand if the player didn't want to do any media but a decent media guy would be getting our players out there.  As has been discussed by plenty of people in this thread, unfortunately we are in the dark ages.  We have too many old school footy heads in the place.

Yes, he may be a great talking head & funny as but he's paid to play football first and foremost. No one complained ( well I'm sure some did ) about our siege mentality in 2008. If he or the powers that be say no media at the moment ie pre season, so what  - it'd only be a snippet after a story on the Bunnies, Dragons or Bulldogs - why waste the time unless it's gonna be a lead story.
