I could see the upside of Levi getting a cheap contract. As mentioned he played well in 9's, played for NZ.

I doubt it would be cheap. As a club with serious designs on winning the 2020 premiership, that suddenly finds itself with no number 9, Manly are desperate, simple as that. There are a few options no doubt but we aren’t exactly on the box seat for negotiations.

We will have some very good intel on him with Toovey being involved in the Samoa coaching setup for a couple of weeks

Relatively young, experienced and has played rep footy and we potentially don’t have anybody that specialises in that position on our roster for next season. Is a no brainer and I can’t see how people think it’s a bad idea

He's supposedly on $350K at Knights, so not massive coin. If they are keen to free up cap space the Knights may even pay some of his freight given it is the last year of his contract. Not sure what the cap relief is for players suspended under Greenturds no fault stand down policy, but we might have a zero sum game if things fall into place. We need a 9 with some NRL experience, so not much downside in signing him,

I’ve never liked Levi : But , he did surprise later in the Comp running from dummy half , he was carving up. Struggles in defence : Looking at the options available , I’m not sure there is anyone better .

Read somewhere that when Manly were interested in maybe recruiting Luke that the 200 k per season was about the ball park figure that they were considering . Taking into account the retention , salary cap situation , probably a realistic scenario . Same probably applies for the Levi consideration right now for a net outcome payment wise if Levi is even seriously on Manly :s radar . Just so much uncertainty over Manase"s future short term role with Manly right now to commit too much outlay for an additional 9 on the market still . Docker - Clay is a pretty reasonable footy player who apparently is not in favour now so probably indicative of the present caution in definitely going after another 9 right now also .

I also agree he shouldn’t be cheap (relative to his accomplishments)
But the knights are happy to move him on.
Jayden Brailey should be their hooker for many years.
No club has signed him. His manager had been trying to get him an upgraded deal for the last 3 seasons to no avail.
I was implying that there was upside for the club to get him cheap based on his shrinking prospects as the next season gets closer. Free agents lose bargaining power and if he wanted to grab a 1 year deal with a club like Manly, it’s possible he’d be willing to prove himself for a year at least

Interesting reading the old messages. Some said yes to Levi, some said no way. I actually predicted he would be buy of the season, a long way to go yet but I think he is starting to become a very good player for us, keep it up Levi. I'd be re signing him now on the cheap. Even if Fainu is back of like to keep Levi.

One thing I did love was the nod to the emblem on the jersey after he scored on both weeks.
Looks like he has the passion for the club, after a few questions were asked earlier in the season.

Agreed. I think it's another great quality Levi now has, he is passionate and he is often the one in the circle barking orders at the other players along with Chez and Jake

He’s growing on me I must say.

I was probably one of the “ did we really need to sign a discard player” people on here, and even a month ago probably thought he was just a full in for a year.

But he’s warming to the role and I’m warming to him as a Sea Eagle.
