Cronk to manly rumour

I had to listen to the F-Troop theme song as I couldn't get the Gilligan's Island tune out of my head.
A wise old Indian would've said "you're." lol 😛 (shut up ge. Ok, sorry.)
I am not trying to pick an argument with you but just out of interest if you don't like people bagging the club or a player what do you think is appropriate comment on here? If a poster on ST is not happy after a big loss or the effort or form of player getting paid good money e.g. NM or LB (no names used as I don't want to offend) what would you think is OK?

I an not really a fan of Cronk coming to Manly.
Firstly he is not young. If we signed him up next year he would be 34 yrs old, going on 35.
He is getting to that age now where injuries could very well start creeping in.
Not to mention the big dollars he would be demanding. The last thing this club needs is another year or two where a high payed player is out for extended periods at a time.
I also believe that the chances of Hastings sticking around are very low if Cronk is signed up on a two year deal. We are best off using this money to hang on to the likes of Fonua-Blake, Hastings and several of our other young stars, plus signing up at least one tried and true big name forward.
Hastings has a hell of a lot more to offer than Cronk in the long term. He is at least 12 years younger than Cronk and is already up to the task of partnering DCE in the halves for many years to come.

Look, I don't want to nitpick and start a fight or anything, but I think a wise old Indian would've said something in his native language, and not been concerned at all with English grammar and punctuation...

I think he'd offer a lot more than just his on-field activities. He'd be a font of knowledge in leadership, coaching, training, tactics and probably management. I'm sure he'd be a successful coach once he hangs up his boots, so if Manly could transition him into an assistant coaching role, or a recruitment role, then it would reap rewards in the longer term. For me, he will be at the forefront of rugby league in some capacity in the years to come. It may be in the media; it could also be as an official in the NRL.

Grub just signed with Tigpies so they are not looking like a club interested. Dogs have signed Foran, so unless they have the money to flick Mbye, its aint happening for them either.
Other clubs have been locking in their halves, and we have Green. Why show him the door for a guy who will play 1 season. If your going to show green out, give the jersey to hastings.
Honestly I think he will retire, or souffs to replace keary unless they commit to their young guys.

I don't really know mate, it is very grey.
I am old school, where you can bag a bad performance (I do that and have done it many times) as long as it is backed up with fact or evidence. To tell the truth I am all for the free arguments etc and like to see the banter. But when there is hatred and venom pushed forth, it becomes something else entirely. I would like to think we could dissect the footy played and the coaching styles with respect. That's all.
I actually said until recently that Barrett seemed to have no idea, because I watched the game plan (well we didn't have one as far as I could see the execution from the players) but I can really see a simple yet effective game plan emerging based on effort, intensity and consistency. It is good to watch.
Re-read the Manly v Canberra game day thread....the comments were ridiculous. If you think I am wrong, let's just disagree. I am a passionate supporter, so laying the boot in during the game is just not right to me. At least wait until the full time siren to hang and execute the players and coach. Some of the crap written about Bob Fulton is also completely uneccessary, he is a club legend. What Bozo does behind the scenes is pure speculation. If he is involved in recruitment, then he gets a tick from me. If he is involved in defensive structure, then we are crazy to criticise a man that reinvented the game a couple of times with his coaching ability for the nuances of the game.
