I'll stick up for Froggy here.

He'd get a game with Parramatta.

Like it or not he's one of the senior players in the squad and part of (if not the) heartbeat of the playing group. May not be the most skillful or talented player, but he makes up for it in other areas. Every successful team needs players like that. I'm sorry but they do.

Not re-signing him creates a potential Glenn Stewart situation as well. Where one of the main people who brings everyone together and keep the harmony levels up in the group get moved on. Don't think the club, coaches or players want that.

We have missed Lachlan no doubt. I really hope he comes back in today and Tevaga takes Sipley's spot on the bench. Simpkin needs to stay on the bench.

You know want I love about crokes. He's probably not the most talented player to play NRL. But gee he has squeezed every bit of juice out of the lemon he could. I think he's almost done but I think with another hooker on the bench he is still our best option.

I think he has been used wrong. He's not an 80 min player. He's a good starter he's a good defender and helps in the opening of a game. But so many times I've seen in the last 10-15 mins of halves under fatigue he stifle attacking sets with one bad pass out of dummy half. That's when a fresh bloke like simpkins or gordo should be there.

Its really strange. when Simkins first signed he looked great. fast, good pass selection, ok with D. But then Croker came back in and it was back to regular just ok.

Now Jazz turns up and Simkins looks a shadow of last year. he was pretty ordinary last week and i dont think Jazz adds much to the mix.

Last year Simpkin was being coached at the Tigers when he came over to Manly, and as you said he looked excellent.

Since then and a whole pre season coached by Spoony.
Enuf said.

No, his no Smith, but his our best option, which just goes to show how inept the club is, 9 has been our Achilles heal since……..just thinking about our journey at DH in recent times……..is not worth getting into…….

I think Simpkins is vastly overrated on Silvertails. He was exposed badly v Chooks last year in NRL, he's had plenty of chances since then and he goes OK but but so far he's simply not strong enough in defence to be a starter.
Bit worried about LC's future, thought he'd be back by now. Team misses him.

Billy Walter’s would be a handy hooker who can play 5/8 as well. Crocker would be great running the water and getting the team up that way.
