Not really. In most games we have won except the Panthers, which was the best win of all imo. We had ALL the momentum in penalties and six against. We are and have been for many years good under these circumstances, as are most sides in today's game. Yes DCE has contributed, no doubt. Which is why I don't understand how our coach has kept him in charge of the playing group.

Like I said, it displays weakness. It screams "you can walk all over me and the club."

No doubt it would have upset a bunch of our players.
I think you are right on this front , I imagine some of the players are fuming at what’s going on.

But who knows what goes on in their heads these days, not me that’s for sure,

He maybe entrenched in a sense that he has a lot of his players and a coach at the club, but does he really have any power or the upper hand? Moses can hardly hold the club over a barrel with the quality of players he has there. Not sure the threat of taking Brooks or Talau out of Manly if Seibold is shown the door,is hardly going to spook the club hierarchy,at least I hope so

No, but it might be a little difficult to move unwanted players on to another club. Or land an actually half decent Moses client that becomes available who might fit the bill for what we need.

Right now it appears we are a dumping ground for mediocrity as far as Moses is concerned.

So the selection regresses back to Jake at lock, Ben in the 2nd row and Waddell on the bench. This to me is the crux of the problem, Jake is too slow for lockforward, Burbo and Waddell are reserve graders. They keep selecting the same old same old and wont deal with the obvious problems we have.

I would have young Joey Walsh on the bench so we can blood a kid who is our future and have a ready made replacement for our halves all set to go!
I actually thought Burbo was one of our better players on Sunday.

Burbo hits like a Mack truck in the early tackles of the game, you can hear it on the telly.

When he & Jake combine in a tackle they absolutely crunch the ball carrier.

Funny Gus taking the piss out of BFB, "yeah he gets his run up from fence, charges out, then falls over when touched" Words to that effect.

Purdue played all his junior footy as a half, and has been killing it in the centres, a position he had never previously played. He is very quick off the mark and will likely cause plenty of problems in the middle of the field. Dearden never gives up. And on top of that, Drinkwater plays pretty much as an extra half.

Up against them we have an old bloke with one eye on Origin and the other eye on his new red, white and blue team, and a slightly less old bloke who has always struggled to take control of a game.

But the halves will be the least of our problems. The game will be won in the forwards, and ours are just not very good.
Fortunately neither are theirs.
