Coronavirus sucks.. but the NRL lives!

Ok. Just got an update from my niece who is on the boat. So they are doing loops from Sydney to Newcastle at 10 knots.
They said they’ll let them in Wednesday morning. Then they have to do the 14 day home isolation quarantine.
Give it another cpl hours and things will probably change again.

Is it an Australian cruise or has she been somewhere offshore??

I honestly believe it had a lot more to do with short notice , ie people who had travelled to events etc ( which is why they allowed crowds at NRL games).

Yes the F1 people decided to cancel, their choice , but any other event for this last weekend could have gone on.

Thinking that it was all about a church gathering really isn’t that logical.

Personally I reckon politics should be put away for the time being and I’d really love to see a bi-partisan approach from all levels of government on this, the time for cheap political shots from both sides of politics should be sidelined.
Albo said that scomo is basically keeping him and all non govt parliamentarians in the dark.

The season will be disrupted in the next week or two.
I don't have the answers but I feel the comp should be suspended for 2 months and then resume with a shortened season by playing each team once.
Hopefully coronavirus will settle by then.
It has to be better than having byes because some teams can't play given some teams more byes then others or cancelling the season.

Yes but if they called into a foreign port , bingo!!
We were talking about the ramifications for the tourist industry today. If you were still running Ambassador Travel, what do you think you’d have to do to stay afloat (pun not intended!) business wise??

Buggered if I know, everything we did ( it’s still operating) is a disaster.

I was speaking by email with one of my old staff members tonight she’s really worried about her job.

I guess if you had to funds in reserves you might be ok but otherwise I’d say in general I’d be screwed.

Think about , airlines , hotels , bus companies, tourism attractions, cruise lines , small tourist operators ZERO inbound travel, no one going overseas.

Its Armageddon really!!

I'm lucky to already work from home about 90% of the time. But I expect daycare to shut up soon or deny access to anyone with the sniffles (which is all off them) making it almost impossible to get any work done. Also getting harder to get new work coming in as people are taking more time off and postponing non essential projects.
On the plus side the Alaskan cruise we booked looks like it will be completely cancelled and (provided they give me a full refund like they have been) I will have made a few hundred of the falling Aussie dollar.

The NSW cops have stopped all RBT and drug testing, as they’re worried about getting the virus. So look out, if you don’t get the virus, there’s a good chance you’ll get mowed down by some pisshead. Nimbin residents must be dancing in the streets.
****in' oath I'm picking the bong back up, it's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.

We are ( maybe /maybe not) doing an Alaskan cruise too, 05 September, so not yet cancelled.

Who knows what the future holds.

This Corona thing is crazy .
Now we cant get out of our house
We are a prisoner of our own home
But as they say .......
It is not what happens to you in life but how to react to it that matters !
So feathered friends Lets do what really matters and support our club during this challenging times and do the Eagle rock from home

The corona virus has turned our house into a county Jail
The family got bored and began to wail
I just had enough and began to swing
I told them to get on the phone and do the club membership thing
and lets rock
every body do the Eagle rock
and every one soon got off their block
Dancing to the Eagle rock

Get on the phone right now and do something constructive !

Cricket Australia has "strongly recommended" that all remaining community cricket matches for the season are cancelled. Sheffield Shield abandoned and Blue Baggers awarded the title.

Can't see how a contact sport like RL can proceed under these circumstances.
