Coach Seibold thoughts so far.... so good

If he keeps it simple we’ll mitigate the obvious scoreline.

For me ( if I was the coach ), this is my pre game speech

Let’s keep it really simple , completing our sets and getting a decent kick in at the end is paramount.

Skipper & Brooksie , your jobs , long kicks into the corners.

Backs , support these long kicks and try and limit their movement up field, frustration will lead to mistakes.

Forwards your job, slow their play the balls down BUT don’t give away penalties , we need to try and hold them in the middle.

IF, we get opportunities at their line , do our best but at least try and get the set restart, don’t panic , build the pressure.

Penalties PLEASE keep these minimal , only give away if it’s a try saver.

Everyone , do your job in defence , no rushing out of the line , slide to cut them off.

If we get behind in possession IT WILL EVEN UP, just do your jobs and work together as a team, don’t hang your heads if we get behind , possesion will change and we’ll get our chances.

Yes they are up the top for a good reason but every side is beatable, now go out there and make the fans proud .

PS: I’m not the coach , or even a pretend coach but this is what I’d say.
This should be pretty much week in week out.

I will add to this, that when Garrick or Saab field Storm bombs in our 20m, Tom and Tolu get to dummy half on tackle 2, look to pass, deceive markers and scoot like hell. Next tackle, blind side back to wing, etc.

These guys should be making valuable metres to start our sets and give our middles a fighting chance.

Not many weaknesses in the storms structure, so my game plan would be to attack their strengths, that’s Grant, all game we hammer him, we run at him, slow him down it disrupts their structures with the ball.

The games Grant misses is the games they struggle to win, yes his playing, so go after him. Have to be disciplined and prepared to play at the same time, going through their middle is a tough assignment, this might be the right game to test the weapons out, wouldnt hurt to go side to side, without errors, to give the ball away, is to give the game away.

Listen to Hooper at your own risk. The footy 'journos' these days aren't very impressive and he is definitely not very impressive.
I say 'journos' because an actual journalist reports facts and news. Whereas the fox 'journos' are tv personalities (lol) whose job is to pad out their tiny snippets of news with reams of opinion and guesswork/speculation, along with some invented rumours. In order to keep the clicks and views coming in.
Yeah exactly according to hooper.
Could be rubbish

Question??

If Seibold does get the boot, and over the next month that could happen with the draw we have, exactly who do we replace him with that can actually do a better job???

I'm not trying to defend Seibold here. Hell, I have my own questions about the make up of our pack given the injuries. But I really don't see any other prospective coaches out there who could step in and do the job on what would probably be short notice. Other than I guess Jason Demetriou and TBH he didn't exactly set the world alight with what was some fairly talented Souths rosters.

Right now I can't even name an assistant coach who is openly angling to get a head coaching job.

The question really has to be asked ... would there actually be any benefit to sacking and replacing Seibold before the season ends??

Speaking of Ritchie, he is fast becoming my most hated “journalist”. Thinks it’s a good idea to print something insulting about Queensland to get them motivated for SOO every year, and last night was saying the media is too quick to put pressure on losing coaches, when that is exactly what he does for a living on NRL360. If that show can’t manufacture a controversy they have no purpose.
They’re all as bad as each other. Read is flat out dumb with his far out opinions and vain attempts to justify himself when exposed by the panel; Tallis gets personal; Rothfield is senile; Hoops thinks he is the muscle; and Anasta is so drunk on himself, it’s embarrassing. The only guy that comes off like he might have a shred of decency (not the same thing as credibility) is Crawley, who attempts to keep things respectful. I get that they’re all doing their job but geez, there’s a brain cell between the lot of them.

Hooper is worse than Weirdler.... Just talks absolute rubbish and makes up the "I Think" what may happen stories
