Coach Seibold thoughts so far.... so good

I'm not interesting in knocking Seibs but it does look like Ciraldo has taken a more successful approach to the game, given the current interpretation of the rules. I am certain we have more natural talent in our ranks than the Dogs, but they're on a higher trajectory than us, IMO. Their win last night was superb and came without two of their three best players, not to mention the importance of Burton's kicking game in how they play. Ciro's team are fit, hungry, lean, and mobile. They are winning games with their defence. Outside of Melbourne, Cronulla have arguably the most lethal attack in the NRL; creative halves, fast and strong outside backs, line running edge forwards, and a steady mix of mobile and big forwards. To keep them to 6 on their home turf is no mean feat.

If we could defend with the same energy and enthusiasm as the Dogs, we'd be unstoppable with our attack. Besides the Dogs line speed and kick chase, I've noticed they don't stop competing or die on any play. For example, last night, the ball was kicked to Tracey, he collected it and made a voluntary tackle. Most players across the NRL, lie on Tracey, then get up and let him play the ball. At Canterbury, they grab Tracey by the jersey and drag him 3-4 metres towards the in-goal. It might not seem overly necessary but those little extra efforts add up across 80 minutes and frustrate the life out of the opposition. The NRL is all about effort first, and Canterbury are showing the way.
Ciraldos game plan was very good yesterday and the players delivered it.

The Gummies have one of the best forward packs in the competition and stopping their momentum is difficult, the dogs line speed was there all game.

They went high turnover of players to get a squad of players adopting the systems that Ciraldo has developed.

WTF did Seibold put him in the team today. Clearly injured when he ran on.
If we can't beat Parra without Turbo, we should give up.

Turbo should have been getting himself 100% fit for Melbourne next week.

@BOZO got me thinking about Seibold with his overwhelming appraisal of Ciraldo.

Since taking the helm as head coach of the Manly Sea Eagles in 2023, Seibold has brought a revitalised coaching approach that emphasises both tactical innovation and player development.

Seibold has implemented a dynamic style of play, his focus on creating a well-rounded team structure is leading to a cohesive unit on the field, encouraging players to express their individual skills while adhering to a unified game plan.

This tactical shift has not only improved the team's competitiveness but has promoted a culture of accountability and continuous improvement among players.

In the realm of recruiting, Seibold's vision has translated into strategic acquisitions that align with the club's needs and future ambitions.

He has been instrumental in identifying and recruiting talents that fit the team’s ethos, bringing in both seasoned veterans and promising young players.

This approach has not only deepened the squad's talent pool but has also provided valuable mentorship opportunities for younger players, been impressive in his second season with the recruitment of the Large brothers, Walsh and Willett.

By focusing on players with strong character and a commitment to development, Seibold has enhanced the overall culture within the club, ensuring that new recruits integrate smoothly and contribute to the team's long-term goals.

Seibold's ability to build relationships and communicate effectively with players has proven instrumental in boosting morale and engagement within the team.

Listening to current players speak of him and particularly Bully, he emphasis on open dialogue and feedback which has created an atmosphere where players feel valued and understood, encouraging them to buy into the collective vision of the club.

Seibold's impact since joining the club has been marked by a focus on tactical evolution, strategic recruitment, and fostering a positive team environment, positioning the club for both immediate success and sustainable growth in the future.

Do you get AI to draft your posts? (not that there's anything wrong with that, lol)

It’s the panthers v2 - all players compete on all plays. “Total football” - no slackers.

Absolutely dire coach

**** selections, and **** game plans week after week after week

For 117 years, the key part of winning rugby league games has been winning the middle of the field. This idiot thinks we don’t need to use them, and every week we pass from one side of the field to the other and look ordinary. Occasionally we give Bullemore or Taukieaho some decent ball and we gain some momentum from it, then we park it again for 20mins. Twice a season we use the middle of the park and blow teams away (think Storm and Dogs last year) then completely go away from it for months

Long way to go in this game, even if we come back and win it somehow, everything about it has been ****ing awful

He's very one dimensional. Tonight's game plan was exactly the same as last week which was exactly the same as the week before. Issue being we don't currently have the players to institute the plan. When we have everyone fit and firing then sure but no turbo. No paseka and no middle.

What was tonight's bench? We were playing a flano stgeorge. They are physical and tough in the middle. Poor selection from the poor coach.

Just sign and pick a side that can compete in the middle and the rest will come.

I can't get on board with Jazz week in week out. Just doesn't offer anything at 9.
He has never been a 9, can’t believe we have gone 2 months persisting with it when we have genuine 9s in the squad. He can be useful in the middle of the park doing dirty work and a link man though and I thought he did that ok in the 2nd half

Surprise surprise as soon as we started trying to go up the middle and through them we were the better side. Taukieaho has been enormous, put him in a better side and he is being talked about as a buy of the year contender

How he got an extension I will never know. Mestrov should be sacked on that alone but tight ass Penn will not sack another coach and Seibs will hide behind injuries.

Time for the media to put the blow torch on seibs but he has many mates in the media so I'm not holding my breath.

Any coach with half a brain can get the best of him. His playbook is very thin.
