Coach Seibold thoughts so far.... so good

There are up and coming coaches available
and the smart operators will single them out
There must not be many up and comers or not many smart operators....
Ryles to Eels who has been around for many years unable to get a gig before now.
Flanagan to Dragons.
Bennett to Rabbitohs.
Des to Titans.
Madge to Broncos.
Seems like teams can't find these up and comers.

The fact is my good feathered friend
Every Great coach was once an up and coming star set to shine
and smart operators singled them out

Sure, and the fact that there are so few of them and they keep being sought after instead of these up and comers sort of suggests your logic is flawed.
Maybe desperation is just as much a reason as a smart operator, maybe it is just a bit of luck as well.
Not many of Bellamy's proteges have had success, not many of Bennett's either.
Cleary's coaching trajectory is actually quite similar to Seibolds. He was good at Warriors before being rubbish at 2 clubs before success at Penrith.

This is not a flawed theory but a proven fact
At the end of the day and in the history of our game
The fact is that There has always been players and coaches that have had the talent to step up and deliver .

Once again, your logic and argument is impeccable.

The quite similar Cleary Seibold comparison perspective .....

Cleary 4 straight premiership wins at the Panthers
Grand final appearance with the Warriors
No Wooden spoons for Cleary

Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder

In his first year he Underachieved and failed to get a top 8 roster into the top 8
Yes missing the top 8 is generally a fail, but why do you say he had a top 8 roster?

Seibold inherited a team that finished well out of the top 8, and the only new players he had were Cooper Johns, Tuilagi, Condon, Aaron Woods, Gordie, Samuela, Lodge (for 3 games),Arthur, and Dean Matterson (nearly all of whom you have rubbished!)

Seibold missed the finals in 2023 but did get better results than we had the year before.

Seibold inherited a top 8 team from Des who failed to deliver with dominant players like Tom , Haumole , jake and DCE and this is why he was deported
Seibold finally met expectations in 2024 to get his top 8 roster into the finals
Will Seibold overachieve and get Manly over the line in 2025 ?
Over to you feathered friend

For every Bennett and Bellamy there are plenty who failed,

There has been many coaches who were the next big thing but have failed to step up when given the chance.
Barrett was meant to be the next super coach but failed each time given the chance.
I can't see why he is being considered as the Blues coach, he probably is a fantastic assistant but the step up to head coach is above his ability.

Seibold didn't have a great first year like the majority of coaches first year at a club.
Generally the good coaches improve the team once they get their own system in place and the players they want which takes a few seasons.

If Seibold can get us into the top 4 in 2025 and stay there then he deserves to be our coach, hopefully be can get us that premiership that we haven't been close to in more than 10 years.
If he can improve on our defence he has a real chance of getting us that premiership.

If Seibold can win us a Premiership he will earn Legendary Manly Status
We are all Manly people here and a premiership Win for Manly is a Win for all Manly people

Wasn't a great first year for Seibold because Manly missed the 8, but Manly won more games, scored more points and conceded fewer than in 2022, so there was some improvement. He built further on that last year so we are on the up as far as I'm concerned. (I keep telling myself)

I have liked what I have seen so far, the first time in a long time I have felt whilst watching us play, that we are able to win all the games. Yes we dropped the ball a few times out went to sleep, however we competed with the best teams this year
Our Defence needs to improve thou.
The best defensive team is well positioned to win most years. We took small steps forward in 24. It's time for a bigger stride. Manly were a way off being the best defence in 24. A big improvement in D. And we would at least give ourselves a chance.

We'd all love our D to stand up & shoot the lights out, but with an ageing roster it's going to take more work, and possibly extra motivation to achieve satisfaction.
