Not too sure of any contract ratcheting arrangements with the increased cap but when the cap was 9.3 mil and D C E , Turbo and Jake were taking up approximately one third of the cap , certainly or of course was going to restrict the opportunity to bring in some other serious talent during this stanza .
Ironicly , if the current indications of D C E "s contract extension of some 800 k is accurate , would seem a bit unders but conversely has done pretty well the previous 8 seasons on that dubious 1 . 3 mil previous arrangement .
Turbo obviously if he could have been and can be on the paddock on a more regular basis and firing O K , no problem on a mil or so .
Be good if it could be justified overall but 900- 950 for Jake can only result in a negative outcome for the side"s overall competitiveness .
Then of course the Schuster release component for a bit longer yet .
Anyway , retaining Koula for Suli, securing the likes of Haumole , Paseka for the long term , good gains in Brooks , Saab, Bully , Talau, . one of the better juniors in Lehi being bought on well .
On balance , quite helpful to have retained Garrick.
So fairly good priorities and judgements there and only maybe keeping Alioia and so far , a bit questionable .
Have 't done too bad with fringe or money ball inclusions or signings .
Not too sure on how much more improvement is needed to match the current top liners but hopefully not that much off the pace .and as was the case or also did apply in say , seasons 19 , 21 and last season when there were opportunities to try and compete with the better credentialed teams in the final"s series
