Club News 2025

Those weren’t really the “ show me the money “ days , that’s a big difference with say 2005 v 2025.

Back then they were a brotherhood , more concerned with winning & winning big than earning & earning big.

There’s literally no loyalty today in the 18+ age group , regardless of where they were developed.

Now I’m not saying there’s none , but there’s very little.

They don’t bleed the colours like we do.

“ Show me the money “
… in the past players made their decisions based on what was best for the team … today players make their decisions based on what is best for their family!

Just sayin’

RECORD MEMBERSHIP

😂😂😂😂😂😂
Just a side note and to steal some Seibs speak, it was pleasing to see Tent standing in the background of the promo shot with a big smile and training gear on. Hard to see if he's strapping free but hopefully it's a good sign that we might in fact, see him back before the end of the year.

I’d assume that would include the recently advertised “1 game membership” and “3 game membership”
I bought 3 tickets to the Dolphins game and to ensure we got the tickets,I purchased the 3 of the “1 game membership” ones. You also get a bumper sticker and air freshener with this ticket/membership,but it cost extra to a regular ticket, although my car will look and smell great

I bought a DCE air freshener from a servo earlier this year, it now smells like 💩

Check out some video of games from 20-30 years ago and spot the difference? First one you might notice is the exponential increase in the number of players of Islander origin.

Many of whose families have come to Australia for an opportunity to make a living beyond what opportunities they had in their home nations. For many of these people (according to a doco I once saw, anyway!)(!) their values are Family Faith and Footy (I forget in what order)

So yeah I reckon you're probably right. Young players now would feel responsible for getting the best possible deal, because it is to help their whole family, and a successful NRL player in the family might be their best chance to get ahead in life.

That’s actually a very very good point

MfB this is a story across every corperate and government workplace these days. No wonder society has thrown up the current crop of leaders....

Before super league all footballers had full time jobs …. It was a game not a career!

And you played it because you loved it.

One of my pet hates is this generation of sports people which includes those who bag and or say they hate the game they play.🤷
