Mate, I'm not sure you got the point here (if we are talking perspective). Here's a few more counter points to your view:
The Penn family (while owning the leagues club) earned mountains of rent (mountains !). To give you an idea, the club's paid in 2019 and 2020 (please understand the rent was substantially reduced because of the short term nature of the renewal):
2019: 828,007
2020: 714,504 (renegotiated a short term lease, hence discount)
Yep, he sold it in 2016, but this gives you a rough idea of what he attained while owning the asset.
Another few points I'll throw out there:
1. Eagles Angels. Well known, celebrity group, who the club supported and embraced during the Max Delmege era. How Scott Penn treated them was atrocious. Do you recall the negative media at the time Bozo? Their stellar line-up includes media personality Harmer and sports stars Layne Beachley, Melinda Gainsford-Taylor, Laura Enever, Kerri Pottharst, Naomi Flood, Debbie Watson, Louise Savage, Anne Sargeant and Nici Andronicus.
Here's an article to refresh your memory on your saviour Scott Penn:
The Eagles Angels, Manly's pioneering female league supporters group, is considering breaking away from the club after being neglected by its new management regime.

2. Max Delmege. The true saviour of our club. We all know and have read how Penn treated Max Delmege, particularly towards the end, and particularly relating to the provision of writing cheques when required. Crap like this in the media:
The Greenhouse is a community where Canberra Raiders fans can share their passion for the Green Machine and rugby league.

3. The Leagues Club: Need I say more?
I hope you're open minded enough to take on board all aspects here Bozo. The pertinent argument being Scott Penn having the audacicty to demand his name be displayed (rather then the legendary Beaver Menzies) on a council owned facility because of "what he's done for the club".
**** that mate. He's both profited, and caused damage to the brand over time in my view. He should have accepted the offer from a consortium, who would have cleared the liabilities on our balance sheet, putting the club in a much better position net asset, and both profit wise.
Let's think logically here.
