Unsustainable Global warming and temperature thresholds that if unabated could then drastically change weather patterns seems the bigger concern then any evolving climate change pattern . Very large scale [ or any ] renewable energy and alternative energy sources still seems the key and a lot less current deforestation around the globe will help matters big time also Not just idealistic suggestions and very doable and the unfortunate reality is that some countries are more focused on political considerations then humanitarian priorities [ and i certainly do not identify with general Green politics , just human and animal and vegetation future preservation ]

I don’t think the current policy adopted by both sides of government is working or will work, once the cost of living further escalates ( and it will as a result of increases in energy costs) the first side of government who presents a trump like policy will be voted in and it’s already happening in other countries at the moment. Blindly transitioning to wind, solar and alike appears naive to me. Again once the working class of the population feels the pinch and it will get worse the environment will be put on the back burner and all our previous efforts would be all in vain as other countries shift to coal and or nuclear. We need to look to technology to get the world out of this environmental bind, technology that will encourage others like India and China follow suit not do as we did in the past…

Opinions always welcome but if you don't give reasons for your view then it doesn't really deserve to be taken seriously. Just saying 'they're all lying to us' doesn't help anyone understand anything.

For example, what do mean by the consensus of scientists has been debunked? In saying this you rely on...??

And yes CO2 has always fluctuated but why do you say this debunks the science around human-generated climate change?

On this point I came across this graph yesterday: There are innumerable similar graphs and studies available (they measure ancient levels using ice cores). They all point to the industrial revolution and subsequent massive injection of CO2 into the atmosphere by burning fossil fuels creating a 'greenhouse effect' which then warms the earth.

We breathe out CO2. The global human population has risen from 1 billion in 1800 to 2.5 billion in 1950 to 8.2 billion presently. For any action to succeed we probably need to start by killing off three quarters of the worlds population. I can't see it being a very popular opinion somehow

Believe what you hear read on social media or believe in the science - I prefer to believe in the science -
Very simply put:-
- The planet is warming - Warming and cooling are natural cycles occuring over geological timespans - Since the industrial revolution man's actions have greatly added to greenhouse gas emmissions into the atmosphere - This has measurably sped up global warming.
The result is Man Accelerated Global Warming
Misinformation abounds everywhere especially on social media.

Not because they need it , because of the graft & corruption that will send tens of millions to the bank accounts of their politicians.

My family have been farming in north west NSW for 155 years , my great grandfather arrived in 1870.

Luckily the family has the records for rain , droughts , floods and temperatures going back all that time.

The early records are very basic , rainfall records and mentions of temperatures plus notations for droughts / floods.

As we get into the 1900’s the reporting is more thorough , but still a little basic.

From the mid 1900’s the reporting is far more involved , my father was an avid weather recorder.

My brother now farms , and he’s had done a spreadsheet of the weather , mainly rainfall and temperatures, fur all that time.

What it shows is this.

The weather is cyclical , it’s up and down like a brides nighty. There are wet periods that go for years , always followed by dry periods that go for years.

The temperatures in 1870, 1930, 1980 & currently ( that’s 50 year gaps ) are almost identical , the hottest temp in 1870 was 114 degrees Fahrenheit , the hottest temperature in 2024, 45 degrees Celsius.

The wettest year in the 1800’s 32 inches , the driest , 5. In the 2000’s the wettest year 30 inches , the driest 7.

Am I a climate change denier , in some ways yes , do I think the climate is changing , yes , do I think a ****load of money will fix it , no.

Just 25 years ago Al Gore was predicting the next ice age.

Now he’s predicting Armageddon due to heat.

Has Al Gore made any money from his spewing predictions.
