Easy to say ‘See ya’ without offering up a replacement. Not saying you’re wrong, but who are you bringing up/in?

For me I’m letting go Elliott, Jorge (grudgingly, he’s been good over the years), Croker, Jetski, Waddell.

My 17 for next year:

1 Turbo
2 Hoppa
3 Walker/Parker
4 Suli
5 Garrick/Parker
6 Cust
7 DCE
8 AFB
9 Levi
10 Marty
11 Haumole
12 Siro
13 Jake

14 Schuster
15 *new back rower (if no one suitable then keep Waddell)
16 Paseka
17 Keppie

Obviously need to fill out the squad but thinks my first choice 17
How can you persist with Levi?? Part of the reason teams are scoring out wide is because it all starts with him. Watch closely and you'll see teams roll through the middle and suck in our edges - he takes 10m every time to bring down another player. Useless

Obviously there is are some catastrophic problems for the players to perform like that. There is absolutely no team harmony and bond. These guys do not wan't to do what they know is required. Who or what is causing it? Someone or something is, I guarantee it. It feels like how we played under that pretender Barrett, although this time it is under the highly credentialed Hasler. Hasler wasn't here last time. Is DCE causing disharmony? Again? Is he toxic? Is it Des? Nobody else has the pull to cause it.

Great post! can I ask why you got so upset at me when I’m negative about the club and players even when you feel the same way?

Be more concerned about the administration of the club than the players you release because at the present time, this once mighty club ranks quite low on being an organisation to attract talent.

And by talent, I mean the RETENTION of quality juniors coupled with the need to reinforce said talent with experienced players from clubs who have enjoyed success.

I provided some commentary regarding Albert Hopoate and I'll add to that and say they younger talent at the club are not feeling or finding a pathway that provides them with comfort that their livelihood will improve at this club.

I'm not talking about holding the club to ransom with respect to their monetary gain but each of these players have managers who assess the liquidity and malleability of a playing roster and, the Club, has managed that poorly and continues to approach such delicate matters with a "she'll be right mate" attitude.

There have been numerous comments regarding the remuneration of player X and player Y, those decisions are made and their effects continue many years ahead HOWEVER when a club steadfastly refuses to outline a plan for on field success, well you might as well put up the white flag because you'll attract the talent we see now.

We don't need to do the micro details or thinking of each internal decision made by the Club, but if you can't sell yourself or proclaim to your fans why their expectations can't be met, then as we become more fragmented in our support, you'd be crazy to think players don't read, share or openly discuss the problems with our club.

We don't have the "pull" in the representative teams to "entice" the younger players to our club, we don't have the "pull" with the managers who are now stronger than ever, two or three especially so and the saddest part of all, our Owners can not seem to understand that this is 2020, not 1920 and accountability starts with opening dialogue with the members of your club, the fans of your club and showing the broader community, that you give a F about the misery we are going through.

As a passionate fan, the fish rots from the head and no amount of "friendly journalists" will help you now, why, because the player of today, the player of tomorrow doesn't care what's written in the paper, they care are about success, winning, providing for their future AND oddly enough, life after football.

And believe me, we aren't even close to offering any one of those "pathways".

Unless someone inside this club or collectively the club itself makes some really hard decisions, what we witnessed tonight is the manifestation of prolonged neglect in the structure of our Club.

No one player can change that, no matter how bad his hamstrings are.
Thought that you provided some interesting insight last week on a couple of topics [ nothing could be confirmed of course but still useful commentary ] , however think that you are hardly providing a pertinent commentary with this post . With the exception of young Hoppa and in regard to a reasonable pathways system , evidence seems to suggest otherwise then your interpretations . From the successful under 20 premiers in 2018 Paseka Cust , Haumole , Funa and Manasie Fauni have all progressed to i st grade level and a reasonable performance standard and Tom Wright [ in my opinion anyway ]could well have been there too as a winger if he had been given his opportunity there by Barrett ] Certainly would not have lacked in the speed department for finishing or recovering kicks behind and in recovery defence ] Schuster is still signed for next season plus a couple of the more promising juniors still coming through and even guys like Saddler and Burbo . No general excuses for the very indifferent form and inconsistency this season , injuries to key players have of course been a serious problem but seems that the most concerning and ongoing failure is the complete inability for the outside defence in particular to offer even close to an acceptable level of organized and durable defensive formation and structure . Combine that with a very predictable and restrictive style of attacking options and some weakened line ups and can hardly expect good outcomes from those factors . Coaching and player deficiencies without too much doubt more the case . Can hardly see how the administration and general functioning of a club can be responsible for these basic failings . . Can "t help that our big 3 contact players have either not been available [ in Tom"s case ] or the associated problems with Jake "s and D C E "s roles this season . A F b has been the exception this season but need for then him to produce consistently and again to get some better structures in defence in particular and attacking tactics . Not too sure again why the dislike for Walker , when fully fit and against the Rosters and Eels [ i st time ] for instance showed what a quality player he still is and at 6 . Cust seems to do well against less rated defences but struggles against the better ones Walker is still the better go to man at 6 and no reason why he can not still go well in the centres . The blame certainly does not lay at the feet of the Manly club set up , primarily surely , better run with injuries , injection of some more vigorous younger players and for Des and Carty to find some way of fixing a woefully inadequate outside and edge defence and encourage some more open attacking footy

Should be gone
Levi
Elliott
Gosie
Waddell
Croker
Thommo
Will likely be gone
Walker
Hoppa
We need
Starting 9 to replace levi
5/8 to replace Walker
2x strike outside backs
An extra half/utility

Totally agree regarding Walker... I prefer him at centre but he is still easily the best 6 at Manly right now... Cust looks good at times but his defensive efforts were terrible last night (not Robinson Crusoe)... I see cust as a 14 but he has to be better at stopping defenders - and I think he will be in time (hopefully)...

This same squad looked capable of being premiers last year until Tom got injured. Sure, we have had bad luck with injuries again, but this team is not putting in. Big problems in that squad...

Started off O K for the ist 10 minutes or so then one Manly mistake, then didn "t see the ball for the next 10 minutes , Souths went to where Manly are continually the weakest , 4 tries , 24 points and game virtually over . Don "t think it is the case of the players not putting in , just seemed to have lost their way to match up and make the defensive adjustments and reads against any sort of attack on their outside edges . Same old story again in the poor completion rates and for whatever reason not being able to offer some better attacking options .

Letting Walker go when our other centres couldn’t run down a grandmother.Unbelieveable.
All this Parker love ffs.
Nice guy but FMD if he is a first grader in post Covid football I’ll give it up. It’s keeping blokes like him in the team after the rule changes that says that this is first and foremost a COACHING issue which has understandably now morphed into a man management / fairness issue.
Parker Waddell Croker JetSki Elliot would not play in any side in this comp. NONE.And those second graders being picked may very well cost us two of the best players of their generation.

You couldn’t make this **** up

As for putting Parker in the forwards..... I’m going to have a big lie down I think

Up until the last month most would agree. Has been average since his knee injury, he seems to only run at 60% and has forgotten how to run a line
He's at 60% because he has a chronic knee injury and shouldn't be playing. It's just ridiculous, myopic coaching, to keep picking unfit and out of form players yet we have some potential 1st graders getting splinters and not even getting a chance. Nobody is expecting guys like Hoppa, Schuster Metcalf, Miski Olakuatu, Sipley to come in and perform miracles but how do we even know if they're capable of 1st grade. It's F*&KING madness and why we are now a joke easybeat team.
