How does push it up relate to the ball?

The only time I have ever heard that term is \"push up\" and that is when playing \"soccer\" and you push the defensive line up to put them offside.

Never been able to relate it to football unlessit is again push up the defense but even then it should be \"push up\" not push it up.

Look the group that sit under it love it but to the rest of the world it just seems silly and ppl have no idea what it means.

Can we brain storm another one? I might even throw in some dollars toward it being professionally made

What do the forwards do?

PUSH IT UP!!!
[/quote]

Forwards dont "Push it up". Never in any sense in a game of rugby league anywhere in the world has the term "Push It Up" been used to describe a forward taking a hit up.

I'm with Dan, it's a dumb sign that makes Manly fans look as simple as Parra or Tigers fans.

I've always been a bit puzzled about that "Push It Up" banner myself and am not really a fan of it as it could be taken in so many ways but I always ended up taking it as telling the players to push the scoreline higher.

I just assumed it must be somehow witty, although i could never work out what it was or what it related to. Clearly i was wrong.

Dumb posts all round in this thread.

Who gives a f*ck if you dont like someone elses banner, make your own one and add it to the others.

Who gives a f*ck if other teams dont like our banners, they shouldnt.

Dan if you really want to get one made professionally, i can track down the guy who made the Melbourne Cheeters banner, he is a sail maker by trade.

For the sake of all our intelligence and really the way our intelligence is perceived, I think we really need to

about the same as those on this site having a go at it i would say as there is a cross section of manly fans.

<insert mum joke here>

And trotting out the true support line. There is a vast difference between living in Sydney and getting to all of the home games and living in regional queensland and even getting to Sydney champ.

Jealousy is certainly not a motivator, when every other fan including those of the same club tell you the term is both stupid, wrong, ambiguous and not related to football, surely only inanity or stupidity would allow you to defend it

I think we have finally solved 1 of the big mysteries of our side, Choc's hands

Every so often, he glances up to the hill, and see's the Push It Up banner, and get's confused. Instead of catching it and running, he attempts to push the ball up the field and then realizes his error

You werent always in Queensland so trotting out that line is dumb.

New rule, you cannot support manly, bring banners, start chants until it has been approved by Dan.

I would prefer to see a sign that makes sense once throughout the season than a sign that doesn't make sense a dozen times.

It looks silly and makes the supporters look silly.

Are you married to the banner or something Fluffy?
