Caleb Navale

Hasn't got the motor apparently.
I've heard this but it's entirely based off a post game interview after his debut where he said he was gassed after 10 minutes, I don't know if it's right or wrong but I know that's where it came from.

Even if that's the case why did they continue wasting him in cup? He already leads some impressive statistics for the competition, ain't gonna get any fitter playing ressies IMO.

In saying all that Seibold was the coach who brought a lot of the current Broncos pack through, and Bully, so maybe I'll trust his management against my better judgement from the longue - for now.

I agree with you. He should have been playing much earlier.

There's no point in persisting with Jazz next week... I'd give him the starting 13, and see what he can do.

He is no game breaker, but this is a good thing IMO. These players shouldn't cost a lot, but offer consistent performances, like the ones Navale has been putting out. This leaves some valuable salary cap for the X-factor players, and the spine. The likes of Paseka, Haumole, Tom, etc.

It's important, because we have gotten this balance incredibly wrong in the past... Jake Trbojevic should not be on $1.1 million.

Excellent player to have in the 17. These are the sorts of players we should be targeting... No nonsense hard workers.

Agree that he should get first go at lock next year.

Another pre-season should only further his case.
That's why we didn't try to keep Jazz, even though he's been good for us this year.

Still got Jake as well as Brown next year, and while those 2 might come and go, I expect Caleb to be a certainty in our 17 each and every week. With increasing minutes.

I actually thought he'd be in our NRL side a bit earlier this year, but the coaches know better than I about what's good for the development of a young forward like him. (I recall another smallish forward who was held back by Des for a few years, before quickly becoming a rep player and premiership winner when Des finally deemed him ready (Gifty)

Des also held Haumole back far too long.

But des is no longer a concern.
