This clown could not believe the crap he writes, could he??

Nathan Cleary’s exceptional form at the Panthers will help Trent Barrett get another head-coaching role in the not-too-distant future.

In his previous job at the Sea Eagles, Barrett helped Daly Cherry Evans progress from a very good halfback to a great one — in turn becoming the captain of Queensland and the Kangaroos’ first-choice No.7.

Cleary’s going down this same path. He’s already made up for his off-season misbehaviour and is improving every week under Baz, Cameron Ciraldo and his father Ivan.

It’s a shame Barrett was poorly advised in his last gig on the northern beaches. He should never have spat the dummy over the ‘‘backyard furniture’’ situation, but has no doubt learnt from that.

Made DCE a better player. Farkkkkkkmeeeeee. DCE premiership winning, Clive churchill medal winner and a really good player. Barrett comes along and look what we have now. A guy lacking in self belief and playing pretty poorly. And yes I'm blaming that idiot for Cherrys current predicament.

Ooh so it was the lack of outdoor furniture and not the fact that the guy can't coach for sht as the reason he was punted out the back door. Thanks for clarifying it all Buzz. Now crawl back into a bottle and pickle yourself you stupid old c**t.

He shouldn’t be writing any articles, anytime.

... he wouldn't be able to write articles anytime.

Meh... I find it rather funny that a guy who wants to portray himself as the most feared journo (what a tosser label...no support for the sport then?) and most 'respected' - that train has long departed - would sit down and actually spend time thinking of an article to try and get under the fans of the team he hates the most.

For someone to do this at his age...and (dubious) experience, it's so laughingly pathetic. It's no coincidence that this drivel comes out when we are about to play the "free apartments for all" sharks and maybe he's disappointed that we mostly think we will win and this is his way of deflecting his teams current performances.

I guess 1973 and 1978 feels like yesterday to him. No asterisk's next to those wins unlike 2015.

Weidler basically wrote the same thing on SMH. Perhaps our former coaches get the same kiss of death most players get when they leave.

Carty at least seems to know his lane now and is staying there.

Just from this thread my guess is that the article was done as a favour for Barrett rather than intended as an insult to DCE. Very noticeable that with so many NRL coaches hanging by a thread in recent weeks, never once did the lists of possible replacements include Trent's name. If he wants to rebuild his reputation he's going to have to do it by winning some stuff in England, over here he won't get any nibbles for a head coach job.
ps why anyone would take seriously anything Buzz says is beyond me, he is the guy who announced the Chooks were clearly under the salary cap because for example Sio Siua Taukeiaho would only be on 250k.

If the infinite universe hypothesis is true than there must be a version of Earth where, at the same time, Barrett is a successful coach and Buzz is a respected journalist. So much for the infinite universe hypothesis,

If the Sharks will appoint Barrett as head coach this morning I’ll throw in the lawn furniture.

They are all dribbling it this morning. As mentioned above, this from Danny The Worm

Barrett on the attack
Trent Barrett’s exit from Manly and subsequent excuses about inadequate facilities had the potential to mark his cards as a head coach.
His problem at Manly was he fell out with powerbrokers and enjoyed socialising with players too much. Not backing his close mate Willie Peters after a drinking session turned bad also brought his character into question. Those who know him say he has learned from that experience and has reflected on his mistakes.
If that is the case, he should be considered a leading contender for any of the top jobs that come up in this period of madness. Penrith’s attack has been transformed under his watch as assistant to Ivan Cleary.
Barrett would need to convince the clubs who are looking around that he has a new approach to be a head coach. What is clear – he has real ability as a coach.

LOL - you heard it here first...."he has real ability as a coach". So much ability in fact that he almost managed to achieve what no other Manly coach could in 70 years. A wooden spoon.

Saw that this morning and figured that the agent of The Worst Manly Coach in History was busily trying to get a gig for his untouchable client.
