Very winnable game but still a bit of the toss of the coin when momentum shifts are taken into account and how that may play out
Going to need a fairly high completion rate again and maybe a bit of attention at trying to address that points were hard to get in the 2 nd half against the Storm .
But if the defence can largely hang in there again and the hopeful boost that Haumole can provide , ideally their confidence level up also , should provide them.every chance .
95 decider against the Dogs , Manly just went off the boil a bit in the final series after an outstanding season in the normal fixture games and Dogs i think , just barely made the finals cut but really came good after that
Definite forward pass just before half time from 2 nd rower Price to Dymock and that 7 tackle set try to kick them ahead in a fairly tight contest up until that stage
Then i think their full back Silva scored late .
Manly may have been able to pull it off if they were a bit more on their game , with out some uncharacteristic mistakes and those 2 tries that the Bulldogs did not deserve .
Think that it was Mick Ryan the Dogs centre that day , Andrew Ryan was a 2 nd rower for them a bit latter
Third time lucky lads, centre was Matt Ryan. Was it Canterbury that beat us or the Sydney Bulldogs?

Ah yes Matthew ( not Andrew )

There were two Ryan boys , both excellent footballers at school , played for the Moree Boars juniors , Matthew got picked up by the Bulldogs , I forget the name of the other one.

There was a huge footy get together in Moree in 2023, the 50th anniversary of the Moree High team winning the University Shield in 1973 ( also my last year at school ) , the Ryan boys were there , their parents still live in Moree.

Sydney Bulldogs. But they had Canterbury-Bankstown on their jersey badge. It was Canterbury-Bankstown trading as the Sydney Bulldogs.

The word 'Canterbury' doesn't appear at all in this newspaper's coverage of the grand final

For those heading out, more info here: All aboard for Bulldogs by boat

The Ryan brothers , Mark & Matthew , as I say former Moree Boars players , one ( Matt) went on to play with Canterbury.

Hope Lehi has been practicing his high ball catching. Looking at Luke Brooks to chase down those Burton bombs. Come on boys defend, defend defend..

I really hope we don't just going back to throwing it too huamole and just hoping for the best.... it may even be worth him coming off the bench for the next week or 2 more for impact (and sounding silly no doubt) potentially not affecting the rhythm the team currently has....

Also if simpkin doesn't get cleared, it appears gordy might be getting another run
I'm not sure about the bench option but couldn't agree more about just throwing it to Haumole. Hopefully Seibs and the attacking brains trust use more imagination. He looked busted long before that dislocated shoulder and alot of that was on Seibs and DCE.

Just watching The Fan on Fox and seeing an old Tony Williams try when he was a winger with us.

My first thought was that I wish Haumole would run more like T-Rex did when he was "on". Because when he was on, he was damn near unstoppable either as a winger or back rower.
