This all makes perfect sense now, it’s a coordinated attack to rid us from the Sydney market!

Perth anyone??

Read this from you a few times now, please don't become a self fulfilling prophecy!!!!!

Only way it would happen is if Penn sells MWSE to the NRL, or he declares bankruptcy ala Tinkle toes. NRL could then take over, move the team where it likes, then sell the "new" team.

So, it really comes down to Penn. He is the only one that can "move" the Eagles by action.

NRL can try to "encourage" moving, but again its up to Penn to accept an offer.

Meanwhile Lyall Gorman needs to convince Penn that the immediate future lies in working with Council to spend the federal money promptly and effectively.
The federal money will cover jack ****.

The focus should be on the state govt taking responsibility for making a top class, boutique-sized multi-use stadium facility available for the people of northern Sydney and the northern beaches - by setting up a state trust to administer Brookie.

Similar to the SCG trust and Parra stadium trust. FFS it is not so hard to imagine, it is simply gutless politicians scared to support any spending in a blue ribbon area.

It will happen one day, scandalous if it is too late for the Sea Eagles.

Ridiculous decision. So because Brookvale is paid for by the local ratepayers of one council the NSW state government won't help? Its not as if the 'Manly' name on the national and international stage does nothing for the NSW tourism and business economy.

I suppose seeing as the government has not spent any money on public transport for the northern beaches we can't expect them to fund a sports ground seeing as no one actually get there.

Its all our own fault dontchyaknow. We should be grateful we have a field to play footy on while the rest of the Sydney NRL, AFL and A-League clubs get millions spent.

The NRL and the government are making Manly Sea Eagles redundant.

Leaving the entire northern half of Sydney without a NRL team is froot loop time.

For SMH

NSW Government is about to make another announcement concerning their sporting largesse, concerning an allocation of $40 million to sport.

Who to?

Well, specifically, that $40 million is going to NRL clubs, to refurbish their gyms, and expand their facilities!

O'Keefe reports that the $40 million is "expected to be handed over to six clubs ... to help clubs build 'Centres of Excellence' . . . It is expected South Sydney will be handed money to build at Heffron Park in Maroubra, Canterbury Bulldogs at Belmore, Sydney Roosters at Moore Park, Cronulla at Shark Park and Newcastle Knights at Hunter Stadium."

Unbelievable, if true.
If this NSW Government shuns Manly then it is a disgrace, as it's the voters from northern Sydney that, primarily, have put them in power.

Easts to get a Centre of Excellence - on top of a new $700-Million stadium?
What a joke.
And Canterbury? I thought they had the finest off-field facilities which is one of the reasons why DESpicable defected.

The roosters at Moore park?

Isn't the govt spending hundreds of millions on a new stadium at moore park that the roosters can use? FMD this govt is ****ed Gone at the next election for sure

I wouldn't say it's to try and get rid of us from the Sydney market at this stage, although that would be the ideal objective by the NRL down the track, to try and get more Sydney teams to relocate in order to combat AFL.
I would say that this is a ploy by Stuart Arsehairs to get more teams playing out of his two new stadiums, to justify to the public the expense.

And also the fault of the Federal and State Govenments
FFS, we had both the Prime Minister and Premiers as our number one supporters and we ended up with jack$hit, John Howard spent a bomb on Kogarah Oval , so did Peter Costello at Cronulla, yet nobody said a word against those develpopements, now the stupid NRL and State Governments wants everyone to play out of their pet projects.

Is it just a coincidence that greenturd comes out in full support of stooopid ayres stadium scam then st topic ayres supports greenturd in screwing us over?

Who knows - but we Fans missed out due to the endless delays :confused:

Splinters in the 21st century continue at Brookie :eek:

Surely someone is looking at all this and will use the Freedom of information act to obtain business cases, meeting agendas/minutes etc for the justification of these stadiums/centres of excellence..

It just stinks to high heaven

its nothing new in NSW for the state government to continually screw local government .... they want to get rid of Council's to easier justify having state governments

Seven NSW NRL clubs to receive a collective $50m to build or revamp centres of excellence
DEAN RITCHIE, The Daily Telegraph

SEVEN NSW clubs have received a collective $50 million shot in the arm to build or revamp state-of-the-art centres of excellence.

The State Government’s early Christmas presents range from $2 million to $10 million and represent a desperately needed injection of cash for rugby league in the state.

South Sydney chief executive Blake Solly said the funding would “revolutionise” the way the club operated.

However, the funding comes with a catch: Sports Minister Stuart Ayres said every dollar handed over must be matched either through local government funding, a Federal Government grant or private investors.

Five clubs received approval on Tuesday, and two — Manly and Wests Tigers — were given “funding reservations” while they further develop their proposals.

It is understood Parramatta, St George Illawarra and Penrith did not submit any plans.

The beneficiaries of the funding are:

● THE Bulldogs ($2 million for Belmore Sports Ground);

● THE Knights ($10 million for McDonald Jones Stadium);

● THE Rabbitohs ($8.696 million for Heffron Park, Maroubra);

● THE Roosters ($5.765 million for Allianz Stadium); :think:

● AND the Sharks ($8 million for Southern Cross Group Stadium).

The Sea Eagles could receive up to $10 million for a Centre of Excellence at Brookvale Oval, which might finally lead to the renovation of their broken-down ground.

Wests Tigers are hoping for $5.5 million to help with stage one of their Centre of Excellence at Concord.

So Rorters get to spend tax payer funds on a stadium that will be demolished and completely rebuilt in 3 years :confused:

WTF are Manly doing - they've been in an endless planning stage for decades, yet Brookie is the stadium requiring the most upgrades ASAP @:mad:
