Not quite. If done well it makes them change their attack
And if its not then it leaves a hole that most NRL players are good enough to exploit.
If you have the numbers then yes, you leave your defence a man short and if your tackle doesn't stick then the opposition will more than likely score. But if you're short to begin with then it's a risk that's worth taking and all you really need to do is slow down the play enough to allow the backup to come through which is what Parker did every time he came up.
Can this thread be changed to Brad Parker is ok
Brad has been officially welcomed into the ranks of first grade by the referees. When a knights player clearly kicked the ball away from Brad as he tried to play it, and the ref ruled that Brad lost it, we all finally knew that the refs see Parker as a true Manly first grader and should be reffed accordingly. Well done Brad!
Ok I done me cash on him getting a meat pie. But yet another week and Bradley keeps his opposite number very quiet. Go the Ginga
Thumbs up to Parkie he's doing well in a good team. Solid player doing a solid job.
There has been a massive improvement from Parker, when compared to last season. I think we all know the reason why this has happened. I can only wonder how someone like a B.Kelly would have developed over the last few years with a better coaching system in place, or even if he had stuck around for this season.
Improved alot of mess of last season. He solid and thats all you want.
He’s improved his defence & ball handling hopefully for now.
Moses suli was found wanting on inside a bit.
To be fair Ponga makes most players look foolish. Same as Tupou. Suli has had some really, REALLY good players to mark, unfortunately. Looks like Hopoate's not going to happen any time soon, so I hope we get Walker and someone like Aitken in asap.
Who marking tim lafai next week as that go along way to deciding game ?
Love the title change...
I'm no Parker fan far from it, but under Barrett he was picked and put in shockers without improvement .Under Des he's being picked and you can see the big improvement , and amazing what the right coaching staff can do . We'll done lad.
I hope Parker has him. The Ginga Gunna take him out of the game.
Defence was a big issue for our backs last season If you look at the defensive stats after 5 games Parker has less missed tackles than Kelly . Kelly still averages over six miss tackles a game . Our turn style defence from last season has definitely much improved
Put all of that down to coaching
Coaching does play a big role But the jury is still out on Kelly as far as I am concerned as his defence has not improved under a different coach at the Titans and over 2 years of NRL experience.
You really are a master hypocrite Bozo How many times have we heard you crap on about how speed kills and that we need speedy backline players? Parker and Suli are not the fastest but you don’t mention this at all You call people bitter yet you will take any opportunity to still whinge about Barrett despite the club having moved on and being in very good hands now You have celebrated how much Des has improved the team and we can all see that the entire team has improved under his coaching yet you dismiss the idea that Kelly would have improved like all the others Your enthusiasm in cheering on the team rubs off well on people here. Shame about your hypocrisy and downright stupidity though Have a nice day
